Not sure we need another box to box midfielder at the moment tbh.

Still think we’re missing a proper defensive midfielder.

Think we desperately need a creative one like the Armenian.

We want both Rudoni and Spertsyan and Spors is aiming to get them done by the end of the week.

Aribo will be gone as already mentioned and Smallbone would head out too. Matsuki on loan again.

So central midfield options would be Charles, Downes, Fernandes (sale dependant), Spertsyan, Rudoni and Sesay.

Do we need six central midfield options?

He's far from the sharpest tool in the box.

He’s a really nice bloke tbf. See quite a bit of him as he lives near me, we play Padel at the same club

Both Rudoni and Spertsyan would be great business. Fingers crossed.

Is there more to the Spertsyan story than is being made out then ?

Some say we’re pushing, others don’t

Also is this Ugly inside 3 x loan signings stuff bollocks ?

I guess its a bonus if MF remains, if not its 5

Sesay could be loaned out ?

Also could push to a 3 man midfield either as a flat 3 or 2 holding and a 10

If I was to guess ?

Of course, that too. But don’t feel like we have a proper DM.

Ah, was tongue in cheek cos I obviously know nothing about him. I take it back 🙂

Sesay won't be involved much if we get the two in so that leaves five assuming Fernandes doesn't go. That's good midfield options which we'll need over a long season.

Doubt it, the poster is usually spot on. It was him that said we had been sold to SR weeks before it happened

Signing both Rudoni and Spertysan would be pretty impressive! Just can’t see Fernandes staying unfortunately, would LOVE to be proven wrong on that.

As far as I know, he’s agreed on personal terms and is happy to move, just the payment to Krasnodar which is the final bit. They want a higher fee up front than we’re currently offering.

Bemused about the 3 loans rumour as my POC hasn’t heard anything about that. The GK we want to bring in (don’t know who) will likely be a loan and maybe a right-back like Gilchrist from Chelsea who can’t get in the starting XI of a PL side but they are not priorities right now so likely later in the window.

Charles, Downes, Fernandes, Rudoni and Spertsyan is a fuck off midfield for the Championship.

Appreciate it mate

On Smallbone, Coventry quite like him but it’s rare for money plus player deals to be done nowadays so suspect Rudoni to us and him to them would be separate (if they take their interest any further).

It would work

Aribo, Dibling, Smallbone, Edozie, ABK, one lb, Bree off

Rudoni, Spertsyan, loanee rb, loanee gk and loanee left winger

Definitely need a RB. Sugawara is a liability, been shite both games so far left Edwards exposed Saturday and doesn’t even appear to be that good going forward which was meant to be his strength.

Has your contact confirmed that to you in the last couple of hours? I would be amazed and pleasantly surprised if we were after both, here’s hoping! Thanks again for sharing your snippets

From watching a good amount of clips of Rudoni, he definitely isnt a central midfielder for Cov in the way Downes is for us.

Almost all of his assists are crosses, either from right side or from set plays. He has a nice left foot and takes a good inswinging corner.

Most of his goals are from inside the box, often arriving to get on the end of crosses usually running from a central or inside-right position. Can finish well off both feet.

Seems very different from Spertsyan who looks like a traditional number 10 creative player.

Rudoni strikes me more as someone who could play off the right and drift infield and would give space for a fullback to overlap. But isn't really a huge ball carrier - so might balance nicely with a player like Robinson on the other side - although potentially a lack of pace across the front positions.

Getting business done before selling Dibling I imagine.

Archer/Stewart/Downs

Other than a couple of question marks over our attack, that's a hell of a championship team if they pulled it off. I can't personally see us signing all those and not selling Fernandes though.

Am I the only one who doesn’t see the hype around Jack Rudoni?

Genuine question: What would it take to impress you if a 24yo attacking midfielder - with 10 goals and 13 assists in our division last season, for a team that didn’t even get promoted - can’t impress you?

Cheers for posting Christophe and keep on contributing if you want to. I'm not going to start metaphorically sucking you off though. I'm sure you're old enough to look after yourself.

I'm 15, please blow me.

It’s purely on the occasions I’ve seen him play. Dead ball-wise he was alright but physically he looked a little out-muscled for someone of his height.

In terms of his goal/assist contributions I’m not hugely familiar with, I’m just basing it on what I’ve physically seen of him.

It also doesn’t strike me as someone that we need necessarily, especially if we were to keep Matty Fernandes, but again I’m basing that on today’s squad depth.

I’d argue we need pace out wide, something JR isn’t blessed with a lot of also.

Everyone will have their own opinion, I’m just basing mine on the odd games I’ve seen.

Fair enough, think it's not difficult to understand the excitement around the prospect of signing him. We desperately need a 10 who can give us goals and assists, he is that sort of player. I would strongly contest against the idea that we don't need a player like him

Not only that, it looks like we might, for once, just be going for the known quantity, the more expensive option and someone who already has a track record in our division and would see us trying to take a promotion rival's best player in the process. I'm not surprised people are excited about it

I haven't watched tonnes of him but he has impressed me plenty. Reading through the Coventry forums also reinforces that for me, given they are talking about kicking off if he is sold and that they think it would be a disastrous end to the window and kill their season almost immediately

Tactically, I have the perception that he plays far closer to the strikers than a midfielder like Fernandes (or anyone else we have, frankly) - but I'll need to take a closer look

When we beat Huddersfield 5-3 under Martin he was one of the best players on the pitch and really stood out for them.
