I thought that, but TransferMarkt have him as mostly a right-winger. So, 6 goals in the Bundesliga isn't bad. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/morgan-guilavogui/profil/spieler/691786 2

gio1saints Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) 2goals last season from 23 starts. He’s 49 years old- looks are deceptive. Will be playing African Nations Cup from December 25 until April 26 minimum. Then need a break. Won’t play in September cos of needing induction. Nor if it’s too cold in November either. Has got three words in English “ Where’s the money” . Aside from that looks like a sound purchase if only SuperSpirs can pull it off. He’s worth about £3m but hopefully we can pay £8m plus add ons. 😵💫 Edited 16 hours ago by gio1saints 8 4

He's not small for a winger, exactly the sort of profile Still would favour. He has played under still, but was mainly used as a sub in the season he had him. Interesting option as he'd be known by Still and our scouts pretty well. Edited 16 hours ago by S-Clarke

Bit like Villa signing Archer back and then selling him to us, all to make a profit I guess. 1

Graziano94 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-Cr7l7S9c10 Looks ridiculous in this compilation from his time before Lens 2
Saint Matty 76 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Looks like he had a good season last year playing RW in the Bundesliga. If we kept the 3-4-3 you'd have (with our current squad minus known departures) Robinson, Fernandes, Dibling, Guilavogui and Brereton-Diaz competing for the two slots behind the striker. Perhaps 3 of the above if we move to the 4-2-3-1 but then Fraser is added to the options away from the wing-back role he's doing well in. Armstrong, Archer, Downs, Stewart all competing for one striker spot.

Bakovnetski Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago As he's been sold by Lens to St Pauli and then been taken back under a buy-back clause already this summer will there not be a kerfluffle like when Villa bought Archer and then sold him to us?

HarvSFC Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Looks Steve De Ridder good in his YouTube video. Only played above Ligue 2 level two years ago and looks like he struggled a bit at Lens, but had some success in the Bundesliga. Another one that could go either way, but you're just hoping this summer's recruitment team and a bit of involvement from Still is better at identifying talent than last summer's. At last a link from a reliable journalist.
hypochondriac Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Real-World Strengths WhoScored labels him as: A strong finisher and competent in aerial duels, indicating he’s reliable in front of goal as well as in winning headers. FotMob offers comparative metrics versus fellow attackers/wingers in Ligue 1: Touches: 26th percentile — suggesting he's more of a direct impact player than a ball-dominant creator. Shot attempts: 51st percentile — a solid mid-range output. Goals: 65th percentile — above average scoring threat. Chances created: 38th percentile — room for improvement in creative output. Aerial duels won: 99th percentile — elite aerial presence. Defensive contributions: 94th percentile — excellent defensive effort for a forward.
Saint NL Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I'm going to say, based on absolutely nothing, that this deal WILL happen. Sometimes you just get a feeling, and this one's got me tingling.

Decent scoring record apart from, ironically, his time at Lens in Ligue 1
hypochondriac Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago At least we have a bloody rumour to talk about. Seems like another solid signing with potential rather than a statement signing but it doesn't matter much if he does a job and we need a winger with his profile. 1 1

I mean, he is 27, so not sure how much potential there is to be unlocked. But I'm not sure it matters - as you say, solid signing, good track record in Germany, 90 under his belt for Lens this season already, and in a position where we currently have very little depth. If this signing allows Still to play his preferred shape and improves squad depth, I'm all for it.
