But you can't take them with you when you move clubs (Downs' 10 goals last season are worth fuck all to us now, for example). His attributes are garbage. Weak, slow, no work rate, drifts around on the periphery of games. We were told this by people that watched him week in, week out. saintant Posted November 1 Posted November 1 He's a good player and will prove it again if we sell him. The fact that we are so badly set up on matchdays is hardly his fault. We bought a good player but so far haven't utilised him to the best of his ability. 2
Toussaint Posted November 1 Posted November 1 We didn’t need any more fair weather players. We are so data driven that we seem to ignore the character and mental strength of players we sign. 6

When he can't even run or trap a ball then that doesn't wash at all Another cunt stealing a wage

I'd rather use my eyes than look at stats. Guly do Prado once scored 10 Championship goals in a season, was he worth £15m? Boro fans told us they weren't bothered if we bought him, we should've listened. 3
Osvaldorama Posted November 1 Posted November 1 In his defence, I’m not really sure what position he was supposed to be playing today. He was just sort of floating about giving the ball away Maybe a better manager could get something out of him? But not holding my breathe. Absolute stinker of a first touch on him 3
washsaint Posted November 1 Posted November 1 He is a terrible bloody footballer. He goes missing for long periods when the going gets tought, gives the ball away cheaply and has generally been crap for us. Yet he started ahead of Robinson and Fellows. Madness 4

It's all very well saying he needs the right conditions for him to play well, but if you need a perfect storm just to trap a ball then it doesn't look like £15m well spent. 1

What did he get something like 12 goals and 14 assists last season. Like so many as soon as they pull on a saints shirt they become shit

Convict Colony Posted November 1 Posted November 1 finn azaz couldnt provide penetration in a brothel no wonder boro werent that bothered, another endorsement why stats are fucking bollocks 1

Britannia Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I wonder if he is looking for a new agent. Boro are second.

And you can guarantee the moment he leaves us, he will immediately start banging then in again and contributing for his new club. The lack of football acumen and structure here among coaching staff to mould a functioning team of players and get the most out of the players we bring in, is staggeringly bad, to an epic scale. No other business would survive such ridiculously horrendous management. 7
Miltonaggro Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Comments of Azaz being a luxury player. I think he thought he was joining a luxury team. A lot of us thought that. 2

Yeah he's looked like a terrible player for us, gets completely lost in games which just pass him by , no idea how he was supposed to fit in to the side but can say that about a few of our players

I said this back in August, there was no sign of any strategy or building a team , completely dysfunctional bunch of strangers on the pitch who seem to have no plan , lacking strength in key areas with same mistakes made over and over again 5
S-Clarke Posted November 2 Posted November 2 If we hadn't have spent the entire summer flapping around an Armanian player we were never going to get, we may not have had to do a last-min panic buy on Azaz who is so at odds with the rest of the squad. 2

This is true, but at the same time, we haven’t played him in his most effective role, number 10 in a 4-2-3-1. 2

SoberSaint Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Not being played in his natural position doesn’t excuse roaming around doing f*** all! 2
sledger Posted November 2 Posted November 2 fact is they were quite happy to keep his midfield partner and let him go for inflated money, says it all 1
Football Special Posted Tuesday at 09:26 Posted Tuesday at 09:26 When will we get to see this player?

AlexLaw76 Posted Tuesday at 10:27 Posted Tuesday at 10:27 Small sample, but you see him in and around the penalty area when attacking...not sat deep or stuck wide 1
jasonbenali Posted Tuesday at 10:42 Posted Tuesday at 10:42 I'm in two minds about him. If our players could finish he'd be on quite a few assists by now as I think he's got a good eye for a pass. Just need to play him in the right position in a well organised line-up with some decent finishers - I think I see the flaw in my plan... 1
malcolm waldron Posted Tuesday at 11:05 Posted Tuesday at 11:05 I think we need to give him time and see how he plays under a new manager before using some of the extreme comments above. However, I did think a few weeks back that if we wanted a floaty, non-tackling, non tracking back attacking midfielder in our team then didn't we have one before deciding he should be loaned out to Millwall.....? 1
saintant Posted Tuesday at 13:49 Posted Tuesday at 13:49 4 hours ago, Football Special said: When will we get to see this player? When we stop playing 3 at the back with 2 wing backs who are really just full backs. Add the keeper and a defensive midfielder and that's 7 players out of 11 playing defensively. Hard for the creators to shine in that sort of set up. 5 1

Its like buying a car online from pictures and not we have found some of the cars don't have an gear box, or even an engine or electrics are shot to bits. Arthur Daley has been our head scout 2
