That was another unmitigated disaster. There is a solution. Clear out the coaching staff, Bring in a traditional 4-4-2 manager who hates playing out from the back and demands high tempo and work rate. Manning's incessant back passing and inability to defend is doing my head in. Wood had to pass forward once the third centre back was removed. Harwood-Bellis also looked better in a two. Use our wingers and get in a big robust centre forward. Stewart did well for his goal, sadly every time I see him on the pitch I wonder how long he'll last.

Correct, it needs to be done as a top to bottom exercise, but this needs to come from the top. New advisers, new manager with experience, coaching staff the managers own, then the managers players, not those advising, apart from scouts that are in it for Saints and have experience. The key thing here is experience.

You cannot keep striping out players and bringing more in, when you do not have the right set up above them. They lose motivation and you go through it all over again. Every part of the set up needs to be working and well oiled. We continually try and make a system work without the right set up and players. Round holes, square pegs! 

It all has to fit together to work. Look at Wrexham, they are a prime example of letting people in their own area of the club get on with it and they work as a team towards to number one objective. Lots do not like them, but watching it is a good watch and how business should be operated correctly. Yes they might miss out this season, but they have more hope than us!

Watching Man U first goal today, reminded me of how we used to play in past times. Straight from the back up the field and in the net with a first time shot.

What more can you say? It's groundhog day every week, doing the same things over and over again, hoping for a different outcome. The club are just completely zombified at the moment.

At this stage there isn't really much point in going down to the details of per match, as the problems are consistent across multiple. We move the ball too slowly, we're too ponderous, we have no drive, no one willing to take ownership, no one leading, no one organising, no structure and absolutely no idea how to play football.

The manager was always out of his depth, you saw it at QPR in his first game. Rabbit in headlights, but the club were always desperate to give it to him. He will leave here and will never manage again, of that I'm sure. We've been used for another clever bollocks experiment. 

Moving away from the manager - the first team environment is toxic, fully toxic. It's like Chinese knot weed - it consumes the entire setup. Good players come in (Jander, Leo etc) and get dragged down into it, it happens in any toxic environment - good people come in, get suppressed, don't fulfil their potential and then leave to another environment where they do - but the toxic 'group' remains and continues to drag it down.

If I was in charge and it was 'simple', I'd be sacking Downes and Manning tonight - they shouldn't be anywhere near our club, they are horrendous in ability but most importantly attitude. Downes is absolutely stinking the place out, he hasn't wanted to be here since his boyfriend left and he doesn't even bother anymore. The bloke will go down as one of my least favourite players ever, I hate him.

Manning is manning, just shit. I also hate him.

I hate a lot of this team, and that's the crux of it really. We can roll the dice on another manager, but if this toxic characters remain around the first team and the boardroom (looking at you Rasmus) then nothing will ever change.

We need people with footballing experience and knowledge at the club, it feels rudderless - we're lead by analysts, sports scientists and data driven morons. Cheers for nothing SR, now fuck off.

I think Dragan made the mistake, as many others have, of thinking because he's had some success in business he can replicate that in football ownership. Problem is, football as a business is kind of unique and if you haven't grown up around football in this country, it isn't easy to just make a success of your club. But the worst decision he's made is to surround himself with chancers looking for easy money. I don't believe anyone who's been on the board since he took over is remotely qualified to do what's needed or is seriously invested in the club. Their knowledge is so poor. So either Dragan sacks the board and gets smarter with his appointments or he sells up. Just drifting along will see us in L1 eventually.

Depends what Leo says. I'd like to have a chat with him to try and find out his thoughts. 

Problem being a selling club and selling the family silver is that eventually you're left with a pretty crap team. Anyone could tell that recruiting a whole team of lightweight 'flair' players for the Championship isn't going to work, but apart from Shea Charles that's what we've done. 

And with four minutes to go, suddenly they upped the speed and took quick throw-ins and hoofed it up field. Are footballers really that thick? They should have shown that urgency from the start and particularly after going one down.

Spot on, but do you think he notices that he is getting it all wrong, because he needs too, or we are screwed. Or does he have so much arrogance that he thinks all is good? Just typing this I cannot for the life of me think that he thinks this, so why is he not putting it right. Is it because it is his mates, has he let personal friendships get in the way and blur his vision. We had a much better team then though.

Bednarek, Stu Armstrong, Che Adams, David Brooks, Kyle Walker Peters, Sulemana, Charly, and a Downes who cared because his boyfriend was with us. 

I said it in the summer and was put down so many times - but our squad this season cannot hold a torch to the lot from 23-24, and it wasn't full of world-beaters - but they're still leagues above what we have today. The damage Martin did to us in the PL was extraordinary and that won't ever be forgotten.

Agree with much of this but would say any clear out should include more than just Downes and Manning. I'd add Stephens, THB and Wood to that group and possibly Armstrong. Would be happy if the lot of them never play for the club again.

He contributed to where we are today, forget promotion - what he put together as our PL effort has damaged this club so much. However, SR are the primary reason for our nosedive trajectory because their decisions are always wrong.

I have a nice pint of Hook Norton Mild on the go. I think this guy is also a Saints fan but it it’s dry, do another one of his walks next Sunday lunchtime if this doesn’t appeal.
