sisi1992 Posted Tuesday at 06:38 Posted Tuesday at 06:38 My main concern is if this drags on and THB ends up leaving in the last couple of days of the window then we won't have enough time to get a replacement in.. 😔
Willo of Whiteley Posted Tuesday at 06:58 Posted Tuesday at 06:58 I think we’ll have someone lined up. I’d be more concerned that they need to integrate and hit the ground running straight away. 1

More concerning is our own. Are we selling THB because we need to or because he wants to go? If we need to, surely our net income by selling Shea Charles alone matches our expenditure this window and with the Fernandes add on and other bits and pieces we must be ok in which case THB should be valued at twice the number being touted. If he wants to go, it's another matter but how desparate is he to make big bucks? Is it that concerning? We are obviously selling him because he wants to go to a top team. Every neutral would want to go to villa over stating with us in the championship. The key is how we replace him.

Seems less and less certain now... i'm not convinced we haven't priced him out of a move to villa - perhaps on the basis/gamble that he'll not kick off and continue to give his all this coming season?

We have a value that we are placing on him. All villa need to do is match that valuation- if they indeed want him. Their shenanigans trying to unsettle him are pathetic - put up or shut up. He knows he is wanted here and if villa do not pay up he’ll know how much they actually rated him. 1

He also has two years left on his contract so if he's not going to sign an extension, now is the time to let go - if the price is right
die Mannyschaft Posted Tuesday at 23:32 Posted Tuesday at 23:32 You can see why THB wants to leave after the WHU hammering.

OnceaSaintalwaysaSaint Posted yesterday at 16:27 Posted yesterday at 16:27 So Villa have just missed out on their No1 target centre back to Villa. On top of that, they have sold us Dobbin who is doing a good impression of being a dud. Right, Villa, you want THB. You have pissed us about. The price is now £35m! 2 1

I cant see him going for more than £25m. Its gone quiet so Villa probably get a full international from Turkey, Croatia, Norway etc. These so called big teams prefer foreign players.
23rdSaint Posted yesterday at 17:35 Posted yesterday at 17:35 Who to believe? Adam Blackmore (Saints Correspondent and Villa fan) or Jacob Tanswell (Villa Correspondent and Saints fan). Not sure either to be honest – sure JT's being a mouthpiece for Villa and trying to get Saints to relent on their asking price. Not sure AB's had any huge insights this summer

The fact that they are both saying the opposite is interesting.
Saint Scott Posted yesterday at 18:36 Author Posted yesterday at 18:36 Villa just about to drop £65m+ on Nicholas Jackson, from a funds perspective.

So as we thought they have got some £ squirrelled away, and they offer us a paltry £18m plus add ons. Would be good if Fulham come in and stump up a decent figure for him. 2
Willo of Whiteley Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago The whole transfer window is mad. FFP, overinflated fees, lots of clubs clearly finding loopholes and buying and selling high from each other.

Rogers to Chelsea for crazy money and in return Villa spend roughly the same on Garnacho and Jackson from Chelsea. 1

TBF that’s more or less a straight trade for Watkins going to Saudi and £17m of the Jackson fee are add-ons, some more likely than others.

goodymatt Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Surely he would stay rather than go to WHU? Big difference between that option and Benfica and Villa European football. 1
LiberalCommunist Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago If WHU drop more money than Villa, then I'd prefer him to go there. We need a last minute desperation bid to push this fee up, so I'm not picky where he goes.

Willo of Whiteley Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago The English tax is worth maybe £10M on it's own, let the bidding war commence! Obviously I'd rather he stayed but I think he'll go now. Although I do see Villa crashing and burning soon. Every club has their time in the sun, Villa's spell is coming to a close. Emery will be gone by the end of the season.
Badger Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 15 minutes ago, goodymatt said: Jason Wilcox clearly winning the behind the scenes power battle and exercising his influence. Carrick will be gone by October and the back pages will be full of Lego at Old Trafford. 1

Badger Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Despite the rumour I can’t see THB going to Man Utd. I’d have expected them to be looking at a higher level than a Championship player. They’d probably prefer to be seen to spend £50m on someone from abroad to be more in keeping with their image. But joking aside with the Wilcox factor there perhaps. Edited 5 hours ago by Badger
