Worth listening back to the Radio Solent commentary too... Blackmore was losing his voice with emotion towards the end!

Is there a way to listen back to it online, or do we need to wait for Saints to put their highlights up?

Blimey, what a fantastic surprise that was.

Been out all day and just got result on way home.

Good performance from what I hear?

Yeah. First 10 mins were crazy, end to end, then they started pinning us in. We broke and scored, then went toe to toe with them for best part of the match and if I remember rightly we had all the best chances.

Would have been a great draw for Arsenal but, unfortunately for Piers, Shea Charles popped up with a cultured winner 🙂

I thought Bragg looked very composed. There will be Prem teams sniffing based on his performance today.

I thought Bragg was excellent tonight; given his age, experience and the opposition (Rice, Odegaard, Havertz) it was an immensely mature performance from our next genuine star from the academy. Blessed to have 4 such good cms at the moment and it’s hard to pick a starting duo but with the games ahead we’ll need them all.

Anyway … the game itself. That can wait until the euphoria wears off to analyse, but as others have said that’s right up there with the best experiences I’ve ever had at St Mary’s.
Amazing atmosphere, outstanding performances from 1-11 (plus subs). Genuinely deserved to win against the country’s best team this season.  It’s an overused word these days but that was epic.

Agree, I mean Rice never had a kick tonight.

Decided to go out for a couple of beers in a Pub in Edmonton , Alberta, Canada to celebrate . It’s 4.50pm on a saturday afternoon and I’m sat here grinning (and for once it’s not the beer 😅)  What a game!!  Proud tonight.

Thank the lord my Arsenal-obsessed son was given some lovely Bose headphones just before the game.

Noise-cancelling, too - so he couldn't hear a word I screamed.

We do have a bit of a fixture pile up now though. Assume we'll have to bring the Blackburn game forward and it'll be two games a week until the end of the season.

Mind you, who gives a f..k?

Fortunately, Patches just put up the audio link for the match, so your son won't miss out, and in lovely quality on those headphones. 🙂

Bloody hell that was brilliant.

We play well against teams who "play football", letting them faff around with their slow passing, being as aware as possible on their set pieces (with no fouling) and hitting them on the break, lovely stuff, absolutely superb. Brilliant team performance with many stand out players - unfair to call out one player, fkn team of the match.  Well done, that is what the FA Cup is about.

Glad I got last minute tickets, I knew tonight would be a great atmosphere especially if we scored first. Not the whole stadium standing and singing but the majority I'd say. First time I'd been in the Northam stands too. Great night!

Can't believe how disappointed the commentator sounds. You just know he'd have been creaming everywhere if Dowman had scored a late winner like that.

I think you're hearing what you want to there, there's nothing wrong with that commentary and for the most part the media absolutely love a good cup upset.

What I enjoyed about it most is that it wasn’t a fluke win. Yes, Arsenal were a different class. But we had the better chances, defended better than them and we out coached them. All credit to Tonda, the coaching team and the players.
We have steadily built up a belief in ourselves that has been missing for a while.

I said earlier that giving it our best shot would be good for the club. They did and it is.

Scotland surely will consider taking him to the World Cup

It is a library in there now.

People sitting at home criticising people at the game for being too quiet. OK. Although I haven't heard St Mary's thismloudnsince the WBA play off game a couple of years ago.

Great for him personally, and fine if he's a free agent.

But, if we do extend that contract, I'd be just as happy keeping him as far away from potential injury as possible.

I'd been reading that Scotland were continuing to struggle up front. But, I think that was without Shankland. I'm hoping Clarke sticks with the squads he's been picking.

Edit: The above is, of course, my fear Stewart will go.

As for Bragg, the last I looked, he had just a few U-21 caps. I thought he'd have more. But that makes him quite the outlier, as Clarke generally sticks with the group.

Be interesting to see how well we sell this semi final. The last one we got to with fans we couldn’t sell out and there were blocks of empty seats.

2018 we were really struggling and everyone had been year before in league cup final, think even Chelsea struggled to sell their end. Some of us managed to go in 2021 as well in strange circumstances

More feelgood factor this time but tickets are expensive so should be enough to go round

Without doubt the best atmosphere and match/occasion at st Mary’s I’ve ever witnessed. Every player to a man was absolutely superb and left it all out there. Very proud tonight. Amazing to watch it with my son too who doesn’t get to see many games. He was blown away by the atmosphere- Brilliant memories to last

I was talking about Bragg but sure Loch Ness Drogba can go as well

I refer my right honourable poster to the edit I made before his post above, when I noticed I was completely on the wrong track. 🙂

Embarrassing atmosphere tbh. Can only assume there are a LOT of gooners in the home end.

Are you judging from the TV? Best atmosphere since West Brom.

There was a period before we scored where the crowd seemed very quiet on the TV. It obviously improved immensely after the goal and into the second half. It might just have just been poor pick-up from the BBC mics of course, but it definitely came across as quite a flat atmosphere for a while before the first goal.

One of the best matches since we moved to St Mary’s. Atmosphere great, celebrations great.

Great.

Terrific.

Funnily enough we were discussing where this ranked in terms of St Mary’s games. General consensus was top 3 was: West Brom Playoff semi, Inter Milan and this game. Quite a few honourable mentions though.

Best night at the football I've had, I think. Never heard St Marys like that before, place was bouncing.

Every player to a man put in a superb shift. Genuinely couldn't pick a man of the match. Perfect tactics from Tonda.

Core memory unlocked, that. Only time I heard Arsenal was when they scored, yet saw some clips on the telly just now and the mics were clearly all at the arsenal end.

Ref had a stinker, though, and getting out the ground was horrendous. Almost has a crush going on behind the Northam at times. Never known that before.
