Got great speed plus is an assist machine. 10 goals, 8 assists. That's how I see it. If anything, he's a replacement for Archer - though I hope he doesn't turn out to be an Archer Mark 2.

Willo of Whiteley Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) 2 hours ago, Dman said: I think he offers something very different to Scienza and Azaz. If we're honest, Scienza faded towards the end of the season probably due to the fact he was knackered and sides had worked out just to stick 2 men on him. Azaz we've seen can go missing and blows hot and cold. This entirely regarding Leo Scienza. He is a decent player but my god he’s overrated by so many. He faded massively at times last season, if you want to get out the Championship you need consistency and sometimes someone who brings something different. Edited 5 hours ago by Willo of Whiteley

But talk about physical presence is nonsense, that is the one thing he didn't really bring despite his height. While Larin has masses of physical presence 2

Smallbone linked but also linked to Millwall where he was on loan before a serious hamstring injury and WBA so you think he’d go to one of those unless there’s some serious beard-whispering.

He's the kind of player other managers/scouts will have seen and liked and his struggles here will be put to one side. The issue is how much we would want for him. Most Championship sides have no money for transfer fees.

SaintsLoyal Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Whats the status of Charles ? I guess hes almost out the door if we are buying someone as we dont have that much cash flow around. Has charles been clocked on any of the pre season media ?

Oldandtired Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Don't get the McCarthy to Leicester thing. I think he's a decent shot stopper but a Russball me to you to me-er in the penalty area he ain't.

revolution saint Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 19 minutes ago, hypochondriac said: Cool. May mean that Dobbin isn't the Stewart replacement. Yeah, although Justin Njinma doesn't sound much like an out and out striker either and more of a wide player. Does appear to be very fast though. Apparently Hull also very interested. Wouldn't surprise me if we were looking at both Dobbin and Justin Njinma but had the intention of only signing one of them.
Saint Garrett Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 21 minutes ago, hypochondriac said: Cool. May mean that Dobbin isn't the Stewart replacement. Pretty certain he isn't. They all proved last year we can't play without a target man, so pretty sure Dobbin is more of a squad player to play in any of the other front 3 positions apart from CF.

Begavic is out of contract this summer and 39. I am guessing he isn't returning? He was second choice, picked ahead of Fran Vieites, who they perhaps don't rate terribly highly. 1
SylvianSylvian Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago How much would we need to get for Archer for it not to be a loss under amortisation?
Chez Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 5 minutes ago, SylvianSylvian said: How much would we need to get for Archer for it not to be a loss under amortisation? £15m signing, four year contract, two years in, so £7.5m. Does the new financial method still need teams to avoid loss under amortisation? Selling him now for say £4m makes a lot more sense from a cash flow basis than loaning him out for two years (if there was next to no loan fee) and getting zero back when he walks on a free (but no loss under amortisation). 1

Chez Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Better here. Nothing terribly exciting. Neat and tidy. Not bad for a 19 year old. He looks like he lacks a little power in his pass, but maybe the grass just needs a cut. 2

Looks like the championship might be a challenge physically for him and Bragg looks a better player but then we've all seen a lot more of him so probably not entirely fair to compare them. 1

Devine was PNE’s statement signing by their own admission, can’t see them stumping up another £5m+ for Archer. And Cameron’s originally from Brum. Baggies aren’t that keen on Villa but they loathe Wolves and if he scores against them his Villa background will soon be overlooked.
ally_uk Posted 36 minutes ago Posted 36 minutes ago If Charles is off we should be looking at Jens Dahl
