I really do tip my hat to all those from this country who are spending shed loads of money following England and Scotland to no avail. FIFA and the DJT cult have a lot to answer for. 4

macca155 Posted Saturday at 22:35 Posted Saturday at 22:35 Now hold on , those of us of a tartan persuasion fully intend partying on. It probably won't be a long party, but it's taken us a while to get there. So sod Trump, don't let him ruin the beautiful game.

What are odds on FIFA ensuring it’s not an England vs Scotland final?! 😉🤭 1

Turkish Posted yesterday at 10:34 Posted yesterday at 10:34 Trump handing Harry Kane the World Cup trophy after winning the final is going to have some people in meltdown but going to be absolutely glorious hopefully we win it so that picture is forever engrained in English history

SNSUN Posted yesterday at 10:50 Posted yesterday at 10:50 So Scotland lose Gilmour to injury and bring in a Man Utd young midfielder with two sub appearances as a replacement to play in the World Cup Finals. I feel sorry for Cam Bragg - obviously he's not even in the Scottish conversation at the moment. Granted he didn't play too many games for us but when he played he looked composed and natural. Obviously I'm seeing it through rose tinted specs, and I don't know how good the United kid is, but even so, harsh on Cam. Hopefully his time will come. 1

Cam Bragg showed he could excel in high pressure games, excellent against Arsenal and Man City in FA Cup, im surprised he wasn't promoted from the u21s

Been interesting reading about 3 states that have stated they’re going to persue legal action against FIFA for the way they’ve inflated ticket and hotel prices by creating a fake demand that hasn’t then been taken up. I’ve read somewhere that one of our games has only sold 40% of the whole stadium so far. FIFA totally deserve to fall on their sword over this, they’re as corrupt now as they were under Blatter. 1
LaptopSaint Posted yesterday at 11:59 Posted yesterday at 11:59 Will follow Scotland and Canada with interest (especially their centre forwards). Couldn’t give a toss about England’s overpaid prancers and the US and FIFA can absolutely do one. 2

They've fucked it up, plenty of England fans who would have travelled have already decided not to based on rip off tickets and hotels, even if they drop prices now its too late and im sure thats the case amongst many European countries . Just hope in the unlikely event England make the final the fans just sing over the half time show and ruin it for FIFA 1

The first articles I read about it, made it clear from both hotels and FIFA that all of this was standard practice. FIFA had a structured, detailed timeline of when they, and the hotel groups, would allow room availability at higher prices. It was clear this wasn't the first time either had been involved. And Both will also have taken practice from other areas. Pretty much every ticket, to every big event is set out to fleece consumers. FIFA, being FIFA, can never be greedy enough. So, along with "incentives" to host the thing, they have their fingers in deals for transport, merchandising, TV, and sponsorship. The states are pulling them up for the transport fleecing too. A slightly closer look will see than mini-don Infantino is at it everywhere else too.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago What's that Gianni? Say something nice about FIFA or you'll cut the rope, plunging me into the piranha tank? No player chats with the manager, during 'keeper tactical breaks. WWF grappling before corners to be looked at! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c9v39x2v8yxo Mind you, it doesn't stop the 'keeper going down, to break up the play. That's tougher to deal with. And the grappling thing applies to attacking teams. So, defenders can still get up to the usual. Aaaargh! No! Not the tank.....hey, these are goldfish....oh, of course, it's you Gianni, you've embezzled the Piranha money under the FIFA Goldfish for Goals Programme.
Turkish Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Just looking at some of the first round of group games. There are barely any that you’re going to want to watch. So many teams in it now the group stages are pretty irrelevant. Spain v Cape Verde, Germany v Curacao two completely pointless games which will be shooting practice. Brazil v Morocco is the only game that id want to watch out of the first 5-6 days of games but that doesn’t kick off until 11pm. What a load of bollocks 5
whelk Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Heard there were still something like 20,000 unsold tickets for USA’s opening game. Although would support any fans boycotting but could you imagine a European or South American host nation having trouble shifting tickets for their opening game? My big protest will be not entering FIFA’s fantasy football competition

My big protest will be not entering FIFA’s fantasy football competition I just had a look on the ticket website and that's no true. I make it 362 tickets left. Similar amounts for Mexico and Canada's opening games too. $1940 in the upper tiers, and $2735 in the lower tiers. Scandalous. I'd have loved to go over there for this WC but the prices have completely priced out the average fan. 1

What a load of bollocks We were looking at the group games over lunch on Saturday thinking the same, wtf would anyone go out of their way to watch those matches? If there was nothing else on and it's 9pm, fine, may have it on in the background and do some reading instead, but most of these matches are utter drivel with all these tiny teams, let alone zero atmosphere coming across. I couldn't be less excited about this world cup. Well done FIFA. 3

Saint Fan CaM Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I like the World Cup but the timings and Trumps involvement have dulled my interest significantly. 1
sockeye Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Midnight kickoffs, who can be asked except for the later knockout rounds if we get there? Add that to the massively inflated group stages and it just doesn't feel like an elite sporting competition. At least the 2028 Euros and 2030 WC will be in Europe. 1
