I agree, out of all the fans and local media who have had their say I found TSP to be the best and certainly Steve was the most balanced.

Steve Grant was the only one who showed any sort of loyalty to the club on TSP. The rest just joined in the pile on and maybe should have waited until they'd heard more from the club. They now look rather foolish.

Yep Stevie G is a top bloke who actually goes regularly home and away and talks with plenty of other fans so I feel he often has a good grasp of what the actual match going fan thinks rather than the keyboard warrior attention seekers.

(If you read this Steve can I have a free SaintsWeb membership next season?)

Keep going like you are you’ll be guest of honour at the mods curry nights.

Steves alright had some proper funny run ins with him back in the early days of this forum, over 20 years ago but having then got to know him he’s a decent enough lad.

dont worry Stevie I won’t ask you to discount my 1.3 pence per day membership like some brown nosers

I don't know why anyone pays any attention to football Martin - he comes across as a clueless pillock

That’s Not nice, and quite unfair to be honest have you met me? Know me?

If I was really as clueless as you suggest, I doubt hundreds of thousands of people would be tuning in to watch, listen and engage with my content every month.

The reality is I give fans a platform to have their say, share their opinions and discuss the club they care about. You don’t have to agree with everything I say football is all about opinions but I’ve built a brilliant community based on being balanced, honest and giving supporters a voice and people love it it’s something I’m incredibly proud of.

Disagree with my views by all means, that’s what football debate is all about. But questioning my knowledge or dismissing everything I do is a bit of a stretch.

The overwhelming majority of messages I receive, both online and in person at games, are incredibly positive and supportive. The number of people who stop for a chat, thank me for what I do, or tell me they enjoy the content far outweighs the occasional negative comment like yours.

Onwards and upwards! UTS

I would say this is a particularly twattish comment and I doubt Steve would agree with it.

Someone like @L1Minus10 had a different view, perfectly valid. To question his loyalty to the club he has supported forty odd years is a pretty low blow and I don't see why he should feel "foolish" in any way.

Just because the club does it doesn't mean what the club does is always right. Fuck me it has made loads of mistakes.

Try to be less of a twat about things.

Apologies you are right to call me out on it and what I said is unfair.

I'll rephrase. I find that I disagree with quite a lot of what you say, but please don't position yourself as the voice of the fans and I'll avoid your content in future.

Thank you. I appreciate that.

I don’t want or ever have wanted to be the voice of the fans. I want the fans to have a voice on my channel that’s why I have started what I have.

I love talking Saints it's a huge part of my life. I’m really fortunate to be invited onto a lot of shows, and I enjoy some of those opportunities as I want to talk about our club.

I want fans to share their views and have those views seen by the club, and supporters all around the world. That’s one of the great things about YouTube it gives everyone the opportunity to share their opinions and be part of the conversation I have to say it's great if done right. It’s a platform that’s open to all, and I only see it continuing to be a positive place for fans to connect, discuss, and share their passion for Saints.

Peace and love.

Your views are very similar to mine, but like you I don’t have an issue with people having different ones. None of the fans asked to be dragged into this saga. I really don’t want SR to own the club but I can see how a siege mentality has taken hold from the onslaught by Middlesbrough, and some of the main media outlets.

I think a lot of people have been carried along on the emotional rollcoaster this brought, reading back through the Spygate thread makes for interesting reading, as I believe peoples initial reactions to it are probably the true feelings. People got caught up in the media onslaught, which is what Boro wanted, and it dragged us a long with it.

But go back to when this first game out, I remember my reaction was that I found it quite bizarre and amusing. If a club did it to us I'd have held the same view. It was somewhat surreal. Then the picture coming out of the guy behind the tree made it feel even more like a comedy sketch, a stupid and daft thing to do, but pretty funny.

We all drifted along with anger with Tonda, the club, whoever etc, but once the dust starts to settle I think most of us can now see this for what it was from day 1 - an absolute load of daft nonsense blown out of proportion like nothing I've ever experienced in my life. That's why I'm with others in taking the siege mentally here, because we're football fans - football is played and won on the pitch, not in court rooms and with lawyers. Let's put that right next year.

He appears on a fans podcast which I enjoy watching and generally I agree with a lot of what he says. In this instance he tended to join in the pile on of the club. He knows there is no integrity in football - it's a game full of cheating and cheaters so we shouldn't be encouraging this feeding frenzy that portrays us as the worst of the worst. We are not and the punishment meted out has been disproportionate so let's circle the wagons and stand up for the football club rather than joining those throwing the rocks at us.

I am completely baffled why anyone suggests (or accuses) Football Martin of being the voice of the fans. I do not believe he has ever suggested anything of the sort.

His channel is, by some distance, the best fan-led video platform that gives other fans a chance to say their piece.

Don't agree with him, fine. But, don't be a prat and state something he has never suggested he is.

Is this about football martin or blackmore.

Either way they are both doing their best in a moving landscape and no one will have a perfect position throughout this aside from Turkish.

I think Blackmore is a bit of a helmet, an Alan Partridge tribute act. And don’t get me started on his fucking annoying sidekick. But, he’s on a hiding to nothing here. Had he defended the club some would accuse him of sucking up for access. I’ve no doubt he has an affection for the club, and he gave his honest opinion over this. He wasnt part of a “pile on”, it was just his opinion and it came across as genuine.

I like Adam and Jo, their enthusiasm is great to see. They were both a bit melty though when the spying was first discovered but I'm over it.

I really enjoy the TSP and Steve's deadpan humour is always a good laugh. Again, nice to have different views in one place. Glen's spy outfit was brilliant.

Football Martin is also great to watch, especially seeing his view of Tonda change in the same way as so many others over the past week or so.

There's also a good community on this forum. You're probably all wankers but it's nice to be with like minded people 😉

I think we’re quite lucky to have Blackmore as the local commentator. I really enjoy the commentary and Going home. BBC local radio commentary is often utter shite, we could have a lot worse. Look at that Boro muppet as an example.
I don’t agree with much of what he’s said about Spygate, but I haven’t agreed with many people on it. Hopefully the local media will start getting behind the club again soon.

I actually don't mind both AB and JT. Certainly Tessem isn't backward in saying his views on the club or in match commentary. If you want co-commentators that just wank over their clubs for an entire game try listening to Guy Whittingham or whoever is doing the Bournemouth game.

I reckon we should do one. We could have a different forum guest each week, we could do a Q&A with people sending their messages in, given our popularity on here it’ll blow everyone else out the water.

I like him. He's entertaining, and I like listening to him on the radio/match commentary on the dodgy streams. I am now firmly in the 'back Tonda' camp myself, and was never that self-flagellating about it in the first place. Others reacted differently, and some of those reactions or opinions I might disagree with or find annoying, but all publicity is good publicity no? It's good to have people around the club making noise about it, discussing it, whether they see the club as fighters or fuckwits, at the end of the day the results on the pitch will dictate all fan and media noise, and if we are promoted, there will be only the most sour grapes still banging on about this. And those never cared for us in the first place.

I have long thought Steve should do a “best of SaintsWeb” segment on TSP. every episode he could share the the most embarrassing prediction, the most disproportionate insult, the most petty argument unrelated to the thread title or perhaps “Turkish’ Tips”, a simple recap of all your conversation defining contributions?
