countysaint Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 (edited) I am utterly ashamed to be associated with the moronic thieving SCUM.......YES thats what YOU are if you participated in the wanton vandelism of St Marys'after the match just to get yourselves a "souvenier" of your day out!! YOU fill me with absoloute disgust and repulsion at having shared that ground with you today! SHAME on you! I saw mindless thugs ripping down advertising hordings ......for Gods sake what good is that going to be to anybody? I saw a grandfather that should be demonstrating some standards of decency to his grandson of about 5 years of age STEALING a piece of the Saints badge from around the perimiter of the pitch. As I entered the stadium today, I was confronted by a group of collectors with buckets HELPING to try and do some good by collecting every penny to keep this club afloat whilst the THIEVING SCUM at the end did their best to TAKE EVEN MORE from a club that does not need their attendance in future, as they are not TRUE FANS they are as bad as the inbred lot from down the road! What made all of this worse to stomach was the stewards and police standing around doing nothing to stop real crimes of criminal damage and theft taking place right under their noses! Any new owner thinking of helping to save us may well now think again! If no new owner comes forward I hope you SCUM that STOLE from Southampton Football club rest comfortably knowing that you helped send this club over the edge.:mad::mad:[-X Edited 25 April, 2009 by countysaint

Many of the things that were taken were just old bits of perspex that cost less than a £5. My lad picked up one that was leaning against the wall of the concourse and asked the steward if it was Ok and he said its fine. If any perspective buyer was put off by that then he can bugger off anyway as if he is that lily livered he is not any use for the battle ahead. So taking a piece of perspex sends the club over the edge and nothing to do with shocking managerial decisions over the last few years ..brilliant. So the metal frame work (which now in many places is bent and twsited) that holds these advertising signs, that got damaged when ripping them out, stood on etc etc doesnt cost money? The goal posts at the itchen end that now needs to be replaced due to the stress fracture in it when loads of idiots started to swing on it, doesnt cost money? The corner flags that were stolen doesnt cost money? The square meters of turf that was ripped up doesnt cost money? Part of the sprinkler system that was kicked and near enough ripped out of the ground doesnt cost money? I think there is quite a bit here that we could do without at the moment. Robsk II Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 Perspective is a wonderful thing. I think that many individuals did a few things that, alone, can't be seen too seriously, but that, as a collective action, was possibly not a good idea for the image of a club looking to be sold and with FA discipline already in place for next year. Directing polemics at these individuals is fruitless and irrational, because most won't see a bit of something small as a major issue and perhaps haven't considered the cost given the frequency of such events. Most people woudn't consider these to be hardened criminals, and while this WILL cost the club money, it sounds like most of the cost will amount to peanuts as far as a football club goes, even one in relative crisis - when compared to staffing costs, catering, etc, let alone player wages. Equally - spending money on the club, no matter how much, no matter how long - does NOT provide a license to take anything back. We choose to spend our money on the club, knowing there is no return other than the emotional rollercoaster the seasons provide. It isn't a huge deal, but there is also no valid excuse - this feeling of apparent entitlement is without rationality or reason at all. If you pay for tickets and merchandise, that's your choice entirely, and you do so knowing that it's a one way financial transaction. The club owes use nothing physical, even if we may hope they owe us good football and progression (fat chance!).
