Which will happen first?

a) The final announcement and completion of the takeover of the club by the successful party

or

b) The removal of Southampton from the BBC Teletext Championship Club News list? (that's going to hurt)

I think b). I think this needs full discussion and possibly a poll.

(By all means broaden this out to you know you're in league one when... I notice Sky Sports News have moved us to the L1 ticker already)

If the takeover happens before the publication of the fixutres, it will be A).

The BBC keep teams in their respective divisions until the fixtures are published, at which point they are 'accepted' as being in their new division.

Someobdy else will tell us when the fixture lists are published.

Saints have already been moved to the League One section on the SkySports website.

http://www.skysports.com/football/leagueone/0,19734,11718,00.html

And they have been taken off the Championship clubs who have their own text page. Oracle page 574 is no longer Southampton, it's S****horpe!

No special page for our boys now. We are dust.

Teletext? It's the 21st century ffs!

And? Still one of the most accessible sources of two minute news you can get. I must look at the Saints section of BBC Teletext three times a day!

When Saints news is relegated to a footnote on the "news in brief" section, that's when our League One existence will really start to bite. :(

I'd been thinking about starting a Teletext related thread for a while, delighted to see it's not "just me"!

Our sticker for the Panini 2009/2010 season is going to be pathetic.

No players, no shiny badge, probably a tiny squad photo.

Sad times.

And be worth a fortune in years to come. JPT winners and promotion to the Chumpionship season maybe.

This is all getting a bit morbid, rather like when we finished in the bottom half of the championship ten years running. Can you imagine that ten years. You lot think you've suffered after a couple of bad years, Ten years of putting the table up on teletext and having to wait for the bottom half to come up. So I've worn the T shirt on this one. You need to cheer yourselves up. I can't start threads but one of you should start one: How Rupert will think he's lost his money? I think you'd enjoy that more.

So much for BBC impartiality.

Fret not, it's only the organisation as a whole that is supposed to be impartial, not every single individual comment by every single employee.

So for every League 2 video story, we can expect a report on our 2003 FA Cup triumph.

You'd think Pinnacle will want to catch the wave of euphoria as the Hartlepool fixture date is announced so I'm going for c) - both on same day. (fixtures announced and takeover confirmed.)

I'm still laughing at Mike Ashley's SportsDirect.com online site moving all their Newcastle merchandise to the Championship section within 2 days of the end of the Premier League season.

Surely we're used to this, it's only 4 years since the last one ?

Then again, if there are still people using Ceefax... :o

First time i have heard of this site, could be useful

Thanks !

It's not that useful. Because of our nickname, we often get our news bundled with that of Saint Mirren, Saint Johntone, Saint Patricks, the Saint Helens rugby league and Northampton rugby union teams and there are occasional bonus snippets of news about US collegiate teams in New England. Enjoy :)
