I can't believe it is nearly midnight on Friday (UK time, almost 2.00am Saturday here) and there is still no build up thread for today's (for me) match. So here it is:

The team I would put out is:

----------------------Kelvin-------------------

James---------Thomas------Jaidi--------Harding

----------------------Wotton------------------

----------Hammond-------------Spiderman------

Waigo------------------------------------Lallana

-----------------------Lambert------------------

Subs: Bart, Trottman, Mills, Mellis, Antonio, Connelly, Patterson

As for the result, I'm in two minds: Heart says 3-1 to Saints; Head says a 2-2 draw.

What thinkest thou??

looks good to me, as norwich play with a diamond in the middle we should start 451 and take control in the middle and use the wings, looking forward to tomorrow hopefully we win, but anyone who knows me knows im ever the optomist

2-0 saints

I'd go with that but Derry posted on the Pardew Spot On thread that Wotton has a knock. If he's not fit then James at DM?

Right, I think the best way to approach todays match is to concentrate on the areas we were poor in last Sunday. Defensively dire. Thomas should've started the game, he's not the greatest footballer ever to grace League One, but he doesn't fanny around on the ball. No-nonsense. I'd partner him with Jaidi and have Trots on the bench, no player is un-droppable and after last week, it'll give Trotman the chance to reflect on what a poor performance can result in. I'd personally also bring back the 4-5-1, I like Connolly but I still think he's a super-sub for the time being rather than a run everywhere for 90 minutes man. Waigo must take part in the game, up against the Doc he'd urinate all over him. Doherty is their weak link IMO and Lambert must exploit it.

I don't for a second think our performance will be as bad as last week, Pardew will see to that, but I do think that while we should win games like this to progress, I'd be happy with a draw. An entertaining one though please!

With my missus being a Norwich fan, these games bring untold worry and strife in my household, if we win, she won't talk to me for ages (COME ON SAINTS!!!), if we lose I'll be ridiculed at least until we triumph in the JPT.

All told, it'll be 2-2.

I'm sure we'll see a much improved performance and hopefully a clean sheet! Or is that too much to ask from a game against Norwich?

BBC website says Murty could be back but I really doubt he'll start, that's disappointing as I don't rate James at RB. Maybe move Thomas there and put Trotters back in CB with Jaidi to put things right from last week, then play James as a DM where I really think he could do a great job.

Davis, Murty, Jaidi, Trotman or Thomas (no standout), Harding.

Antonio, Schneiderlin, Hammond, Lallana, Waigo.

Lambert in a 4-5-1.

As Connolly has a good left foot and is a good footballer he could be an alternative to either Waigo or Lallana.

I expect James to continue trundling along at right back, Schneiderlin, Wotton and Hammond in midfield with Lallana and Waigo outside them. Probably Thomas at centreback with Murty on the bench.

Due to a combination of events my season ticket seats will be empty today.

Therefore, logic dictates that my absence will ensure I miss a cracking game and a win.

That said, my nipper lost to Norwich on FIFA 10 so is convinced of a defeat come 4.45.

Haha, that's my way of predicting the results too. Unfortunatley I'm not a child though.

absolutely spot on with that team and formation, what other team has the likes of trottman, connolly and antonio on the bench?? We should win this. I'm praying for a clean sheet to boost our defence's confidence but can see this being a 3-2 nervy goalfest. Really hope waigo shows that he justifies a starting place today..

Am I the only one who thought Antonio was ok last week then?

I thought Papa looked a more solid all round player. I think at the moment Antonio is impact sub material, when all he has to do is worry about giving their right back hell.

I agree all your team except to play MURTY at RB, and have James on the bench.

Agree with the team and your head - a score draw beckons.

Team will be...

Davis

Murty Trottman Jaidi Harding

James

Antonio Schneiderlin Hammond Lalllana

Lambert

Subs: Bart, Thomas, Waigo, Wotton, Connolly, Mellis

------------------------------------------------------

This is a difficult one to call - could go either way, but I'm going with a 2-1 Saints win.

COYS!!!
