Who would you like in round 3?

A bad case of Premature e speculation :p

Also, not taking into account chickens, eggs, baskets and bridges to cross etc, a BIG NO to Skatesmuff at SMS. Don't want a bumper crowd at SMS to contribute to their wage bill.

Hope they get knocked out by a small League 1 team (preferrably not Northampton ) away from home so that they don't get any extra revenue to help out their little cash flow problem ;)

Would love to see skates loose to some non league side, and would love saints to beat Northampton, and part of me thinks if we were to get a prem side they may field a bit of a second string side as to keep players fit for the prem, someone like wigan or hull, maybe even burnley.

My thought, I would hate to get beaten by Pompy.

COYR today though and as much as I dont say this much come on Man U!!

Man U away. Not because I think we have any chance of winning, and I have been to Old Trafford many times during which we have only ever come back with one point, but because I'm sure that any money generated within the club's footballing activities will be re-invested in new players. Failing that, any Premiership team at St. Mary's.

Pompey would batter us.

It would be awful.

I would like to get a Prem team away, either in London or one of the big northern clubs. Might as well go out with a bang; no point hanging around in this competition at all.

that seems a bit cynical, anything can happen in a local derby. P**p*y arent exactly brimming with confidence at the moment. And I'd bet Pards wants us to stay in the cup as long as possible; "building a winning mentality" etc....

I'm always staggered by threads like this. Who would you like in the next round..?

Pompey and anyone else in the Premiership or Championship..? Err... no..!

The obvious answer is, the easiest team to beat so that we can get to the next round with the least problems, and so get to the Cup Final, where, not unreasonably, I would hope to get the easiest team we can beat there too. Unfortunately, the chances of that happening would be slim, as we would almost certainly be the minnow of the Final. Incidentally, do you think Pompey were disappointed that they had to play Cardiff in the FA Cup Final the other year..? I doubt it very much.

I mean, what do you want to do, increase your chances of winning something or losing..?

Personally, I rather Saints concentrate on doing their best to get out of League One where, incidentally, there isn't a choice of opposition. So you can see, my priorities are slightly different. But if we are to take the League Cup or FA Cup seriously then I want the easiest opposition possible.

FFS it's a no brainer.

But St Landrew, giant killings are always more fun than doing it the easy way :)

Oh Ok, I give in. What I, or we think doesn't affect the actual team being chosen anyhow. I'd still prefer Saints winning something than losing. After all, in 15-20 years time nobody, outside of Southampton, would remember who we played, in any case.

Will most likely get leicester and allow Pearson to show us we made a mistake.

Although Pearson would have been better than the Dutch pair, if he had stayed and Pearson kept us up we would still most likely have Lowe as chairman. Administration and relegation in many ways was the best thing to happen as it allowed us to shed Lowe and start again with a new owner. Yes, I know its bad to be relegated but we have a much brighter future now than if we were currently in the Championship with Lowe still at the helm not investing.

No way to prove that. I happen to strongly disagree (though glad we did in the end!)

well, I would say pardew is a BETTER manager..has more experience and has achieved alot more..

he had to litterally change the entire team this season...I would say that he has brought in better players than euell, DMG, vignal...surman would still get into out team and JPS...
