Smirking_Saint Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 (edited) Twas the same last year Teamsaint Great sales figures so far, just shows that NC got it right really. I agree that we need to have around the 2/3rds mark, and agree we need a healthy number of season tickets, or at least 2/3rds our maximum attendance which is around 12k. The truth will be in the pudding whether or not we recieve a healthy number of STH's without the outlay of an advertising campaign. As if their is an increase in attendance and STH's it would have been a success however you look at it. I think SRS somewhere said that he would concede defeat and apologise if the sales figures for ST's was actually up from last year. NickG Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 Season ticket sales are now well past the 13,000 mark, far in excess of the total number from last year which also included half season ticket sales.

teamsaint Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 Whether 13000 is a success depends on how you look at it. An increase is good. if the figure includes lots of very cheap lids tix its less good revenue wise, though great for building the fan base. And it could have been much higher ...........................
West End Saint Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 Glad to see we have more than last season it would have nice to get 15000 + and that should have been achievable but 13000 + is not bad
Dave Benson Phillips Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 Season ticket sales are now well past the 13,000 mark, far in excess of the total number from last year which also included half season ticket sales. Really? I don't get that quote. We had over 13,000 STH's when taking into account half season tickets last year, so I am not sure how they can say that 13,000 is far in excess of..... 13,000. Don't let a good stand-off with SRS cloud your judgement though.

NickG Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 I know this is a difficult morning for you, but they don't say how many sold. They say "well past". And "far in Excess" of last years total (inc half season tickets) Therefore what I understand from that is we have sold significantly more than we did both this time last year and also including the half season ticket sales. Looks like the inpsired decision (and the publicity of it!) not to offer half season tickets has brought those into the fold with full season tickets. Surely you must congratulate NC!!! Chez Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 is this a significant rise? It doesn't seem all that significant to me considering the side we have now (and the potential title challenge) compared with the side we had last July.

It doesn't seem all that significant to me considering the side we have now (and the potential title challenge) compared with the side we had last July. Agree, but with nearly three weeks left to purchase a ST, if the 15,000 mark is achieved I would rate that as significant and it looks a distinct possibility. Ewell Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 I think the key point here is how many season ticket holders have not renewed because of a lack of an installment plan? For me if there is just 1 case then that is a shame and SRS/DBP has won this argument. We were always going to get more sales this year due to our investment, potential to achieve, and the return of the feel good factor, after all we did win a trophy last season! I really fail to understand the hostility shown. Having more options for fans to pay for their season ticket is a no brainer and the club are missing a trick here. I think it is for certain they would have had more sales if they gave people the option to pay for their season ticket over the season.

landford.saint Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 I hate to to do this but I have to agree with DBP's . Last season including 1/2 season tickets we did indeed have 13,500. So unless current sales are 13,900 or so I cant see them being significantly higher at this moment in time. However with 3 weeks to go there is the distinct possibillity they might just reach 15,000. Well over last year.
Dave Benson Phillips Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 Dress it up anyway you want, I estimated a bit low based on what has been sold, it doesn't take away the fact the club could have had many more season ticket holders. Oh, and for the record, I am actually quite pleased that the numbers are so high, because it's a big two fingers up at Cortese who showed himself to not want STH's , so no dissapointment here. Are you saying that the posts suggesting this decision would not help fans buy tickets twaddle? Or was it the posts suggesting this decision went against the clubs charter twaddle? The decision to withdraw the plan obviously had an effect and some people had to make other arrangements and unfortunately, a very small minority I suggest, some felt that they had to let their tickets go. What was posted on this Forum in many instances was twaddle(forecasting STs sale of less than 8000, and so called marketing experts on here pontificating how it should be done for instance). What however I find more disturbing is that some some posters want to twist every issue into what appears a hate campaign against NC. Critisism may be justified (not hundreds of obsessive posts by some on this issue were not needed) but I look at our football club now and where it was 12 months ago and on balance I know where I'd rather be. Chez Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 if we have lost just a single ST holder due the short notice removal of the payment plan then its not hey ho IMO its ****ing bad news. Last years season ticket holders were supporting the club at its lowest point for some time. Those type of fans should all have been embraced by the ownership not treated with such total disregard. Junior Mullet Posted 20 July, 2010 Share Posted 20 July, 2010 I agree that it is sad that some decent fans will not be able to get a ST this year but they have their fellow supporters to blame not the club. Personally I am glad the club is not wasting money chasing people that can't pay. What does annoy me though is the way the club did not make their announcement sooner. That way those fans who would find it hard to obtain a credit card offering interest free credit for 9 months or a year could have put some money aside or made alternative arrangements. Fact is they were given no time at all which to me sucks.
