rallyboy Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 I heard mildly racist stuff yesterday about Guly, I've questioned people before when I know who has said it, time for people to make a stand and remind the yoof club rejects that you can't get away with it. Report it if it happens at the next home game, shut these idiots up. The Northam isn't full of mongs, it just includes a vocal minority who need educating. mikee Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 I know what you mean. I am surrounded by morons who seem to be very angry and do not accept footballers making any mistakes! Most seem more interested in being critics than fans. Although it is not restricted to the Northam. You can clearly hear the frustration from all sides of the ground when a mistake or mis-placed pass is made - it is just that the Northam is more audible. Never mind about creating a Kop - how about somewhere that fans with more than one brain cell can go to stand and sing (at proper speed) and support the team? Deppo Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 This is the liberal society you all wanted. You all wanted freedom of speech and then complain when people use that. captainchris Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 First comment is fair enough- someone's opinion. Second comment unacceptable and if you heard someone saying that you should have reported him. The last thing we need is the politically correct police at a football match! Football matches are not rallies for the nannie state - they are havens for passion, opinion and humour and in your cases tolerance. I would suggest, if you are very easily offended then it's best to avoid football matches all together and go and find some people to 'report' in some high crime and violence inner city area where it might do some good to society. Alternatively you could try the family section of course !

rocknrollman no2 Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 Yes there are some morons in the Northam, but there are also people who would rather moan about the team, than support them all throughout the ground.Im sure some of you do show support,Itchen North being an example, but theres just not enough fans anywhere else in the ground that make enough noise. To all of you on here having a go at the Northam stand,if it wasnt for the noise generated by the Northam,St Marys would sound like a library. NN2 Saint Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 I'm in block 41 and it was cringeworthy watching people in 42 holding up season tickets etc, you get a decent attendance and that should have generated a better atmosphere rather than a group of our fans singing about another group

I f*cking kid you not there were Capri-Sun cartons and such all over block 43 after the game and they made no effort at joining in with the atmosphere. The bottom half of the stand did, while those of us at the top were joining in and starting songs as normal. Did we need to be abused too? I didn't know that not singing in the Northam means that your own fans are going to abuse others.
Charlie Wayman Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 Some good things about the much maligned Northam lot, they always turn up, always roar their heads off with inane chants like "Red & White" of "Yellow" and never give up encouraging the lads. I'm not sure about the "who-o-o-o-a-a-a Whos that barsteward" bit, but you get the same everywhere else - who'd want to be a goalie at an away match? As an Itchen-er my only complaint is I can't always here what they're singing but without them there'd be no atmosphere.
