We appear to have been given copius amounts of good fortune reference our rivals recent results.

Perhaps we should start creating our own good fortune instead of relying on others.

Other sides have really failed to capitalise on our recent poor results and performances, just like we have with them.

very weak and mediocre league, which makes our lack of progress more galling.

"recent poor results"? One defeat in what...11 games?

Notts County,Tranmere,Peterborough,Hartlepool and the narrow victory against Carlisle...all poor performances.

You also said poor results. Tranmere was both a poor result and poor performance, but it is nonetheless a fact that we have had only ONE defeat in 11. Why always search for the cloud rather than the silver lining?

Recent poor results?

We certainly haven't been firing on all cylinders recently (although the Cup distraction and Lallana's absence may have played their part).

Recent poor results :

Losing to Tranmere

Drawing with Notts County

Drawing with Hartlepool

Drawing with Peterborough (would probably have taken a draw before the game, but surrendering a two goal lead - twice - does make it seem like a poor result).

Converting two of those draws in to wins (Posh & County) would have made quite a difference (2 pts behind 2nd place with 3 games in hand!!!).

I'm not up for wrist slashing and we're still in the box seat with games in hand, but it's the manner of our performances as much as our results that have got me a tad jittery. Even the two games we have won recently (Exeter & Carlisle) have been rather unconvincing.

We just need to recover the late December/early January form and get on a roll.

Some seem to think we are losing most weeks. Let's get our games in hand out of the way first before being a defeatist

Lets get some points in the bag before looking at the realistic proposition of automatic promotion (2nd place),which should have been the minimal expectation

Notts County,Tranmere,Peterborough,Hartlepool, poor results and performances combined.Dropped points, simple as.

If we get 2nd I will be absolutely delighted

I know we have had a bit of a running battle reference our opinoins over Adkins and i of course would be chuffed to gain promotion and get out of this poxy league, but niether Adkins or the squad are living upto the billing we had been given by many on here or the pundits.

The failings of other clubs to capitalise is doing more for our promotion hopes than we are ourselves.
