Brentford build up

Win this one and I think we'll be up. We'd only need to get 3 points from Plymouth and Walsall then, and that's assuming Hudds win both their games. Can't wait for it, London away games are always brilliant but this one even more so, and it's a terrace too!

I think Brentford will be OK, it's Plymouth I'm worried about. They are desperate for survival and it's only 48-hours after being away at Brentford, so we will spend all our time travelling rather than preparing.

Brentford should be 3-points as far as I'm concerned.

Seen Brentford twice this season. We handed them the game at St Mary's - but at Wembley in the JPT final they were very poor. Lots of big tall blokes, with no muscle. Easily panicked in defence. But they did have a semi-decent counter attack. Could be a tricky game for us.

At least Plymouth have a tough local derby with Exeter which should be knackering.

Think I might put a few bob on Brentford and Huddersfield wins (singles) just as a small hedge. Hopefully will be money well lost.

Why bother, backing Brentford is just a waste of money anyway. Can't understand this penchabnt for gifting the bookies money so that you'll feel better (in theory) if we lose, you never do anyway.Nothing can alter the feeling that losing on a Saturday produces, not winning money from the bookies, not getting drunk, not a BJ (helps though)... nothing.

Oh right, forgot the Royal Moneyspinner at the end of the week.

Not that it has anything to do with Saints, but according to stories in the media, it's anything BUT a moneyspinner and could actually cost the country a lot of money, directly and indirectly.

Anyway, I fancy us to win.

We'll get the job done this weekend.... and you can believe what I say....

Their defence has wobbled a bit lately, probably lack of concentration. Add a bit of narkiness on top, and given our injury woes its looking like the kind of game where there's a bit of a surprise. As we've looked a bit nervy lately, it being Brighton may relax us psychologically as well.

I think Connolly may score and we'll come up with a win.

Its gunna be horrible - We win, Hudds lose, were all but up. We lose, Hudds win.. pressure well and truely on us!

I want it over with

Likewise, the pressure is getting to me, even if the team seem OK with it so far. I haven't enjoyed a game for weeks now.

I so want Walsall to be a meaningless game, that we can just treat as our promotion party

I'm absolutely LOVING the way things are at the moment! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's not making me nervous (as it is), but for me it's so exciting that we are on the verge of the best feeling we'll have had as saints fans for decades! In two weeks time we could be promoted!!! Yes PROMOTED. No relegation battle this season, no mid table nothingness, just for once we are SO close to something amazing!

We will win this game, no problem. The team are playing confident, winning football and management appear content and in control.

To be fair we were doing the same before they tonked us at SMS this season, I still think will win though becuase they've got very little to play for unlike us.

I am confident about this one, Plymouth worries me more to be fair

If Plymouth need a win, that could go in our favour. If they just want a point, they will park the bus in front of the goal, but if they need all 3 they will probably come and have a go.

Plymouth's squad is also very thin. Last match they only had 5 subs, two of which were youth team players. Before Saints play them, they have a feisty Devon derby two days earlier against Exeter. Where as Saints have the luxury of squad rotation, like swapping 3 of the back 4 in the last game through choice in order to rest them.

Brings back bad visions of our first game this season. Plymouth one fecking attack one goal other than that they never left their own half, lets hope they need points.

Or Oldham last year... timewasting from their very first goal kick... what a frustrating 90 minutes that was!!!

My overriding memory of that game was it being 0-0 and Kelvin going up for a corner in the last minute. All the fans were egging him on. It really was win or bust that one. So frustrating

We beat Brentford, Brighton beat Huddersfield get a point at Plymouth just to make sure let the party begin.

If Brighton beat Hudders and once we have beaten Brentford we dont even need a point @ Plymouth, its all over!! Our goal difference is 13 better than Hudders atm and will be even better after Saturday, at least 15, so not even Saints could manage to lose a +15 goal difference..... could they???/

A game that I reckon Southampton will sneak but I am looking forward to this one we can have a real say in who finishes second and would love to stop Southampton going up. I also expect thousands of ticketless Saints fans to be around the Brentford area also. The team hopefully will be

Moore

KOC Neilson Bush Wood

Saunders Dave Reeves Weston

Grabban Schulp

I'm in the "lets beat/draw with Soton and play the kids against Huddersfield " camp , our season is over (has been since the JPT Final!!) , for some reason i can't see our players trying that hard away from home....(they'll make an effort at home as our fans will be on their backs)

.

We got scummers this week and udders next,so we could have a big shout in who takes second place, been thinking long and hard, i'll take a draw against soton, and an away win at udders, with a bit of luck they will bottle it last day of the season. :)

What have we done to Brentford exactly?
