£20m euros or £'s? either way take it imho. Could replace him for £2m imho

Eh? Who with?

I think he's in the 10m+ bracket but I'd fight tooth and nail to keep him, he's pretty much the first name on the team sheet I would imagine.

20million is seriously overestimating Morgan's value but realistically we should be fighting tooth and nail to keep our French star.

Why? Statistically he been the best overall midfielder in Europe pretty ugh all year. Running, tackling, interceptions. If we want to replace the amount of work that he does then it would near as damn it the same amount.

It´s not about market value.

It´s about what he is worth to us as a seller.

Do we need money more than the player....

Are we sure we can replace him with another player and get the same quality that he gives us....

Every no increases the price...

he aint worth £20m.

FACT

He's not but we don't need to sell, he's made no movement to leave and has a long term contract. Thus a stupid offer would have to be tabled for him to buy him.

I doubt also he'd make any fuss about moving to Inter, yes a once European powerhouse but only 9th this year and have had a lot of financial struggles. Much more likely for him to go to a champions league team.

I'd prefer continuity over any sum of money.

The continuity is as dependant on Morgan as it is us or any other interested party. If his head is turned, as Alex's was two years ago then it's all about what our chairman can do to make the best of the situation.

He has only had one season in the premier league and he plays for Southampton, these are two very good reasons why we're unlikely to have a 20million pound bid for him.

don't think Morgan's dad is set on him leaving for a "big club" though. Still reckon Top 4 UK or nothing myself. Depends on how much he wants to play for France at any time in the near future. Doesn't look like he'll get called up for the summer tour; Deschamps will be relying on his binkies again

How much did we get for Chamberlain after one season in League One? Personally I'd expect £20m for him. Wouldn't be beyond the realms of relity for Arsenal to have a go at that value, they have the money and the need for such a player.

FACT

When did I say he was worth £20m. FWIW I don't think any player in the world should be worth £20m.

But the fact he'e 23, just signed a new contract, statistically the best DM in europe (or close to), added a few goals to his game, and is so important to us, then we on't want him to go. Hence why I said, bidding starts at £20m, if someone doesnt want to pay it, then he stays IMO.

absolutely spot on. 10-12million and I think we would seriously consider the offer

is he any better than say Gaston or Rodwell or Andy Carroll ? Statistically he's one of the top 20 players in the UK; better than Mata or Tevez so who knows what he's worth really. If he really has the ability to raise his game to each level that's needed then he's worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

and if a champions league club comes in for him with a £10m bid and his head gets turned we have an entirely different scenario and who could blame him. I would imagine his performances this season mean he would be on a lot of clubs radar, they certainly wont start the bidding at £20m because you say so!! List the players in his position, with zero international caps that have gone for £20m in the past few years. Defensive midfielders dont attract the same sort of fees as attacking players.

When did I say they will?

It's more likely someone will first bid at £5m, than £20m. However we surely will do anything and everything to make sure he stays.

So when you said bidding starts at £20m you didn't mean that.

I'm sure we will try to keep him. However if a champions league side comes in, or even Liverpool as he's on record as being a Liverpool fan and he wants the move, then rather than having an happy player desperate to stay we have an unhappy player who wants to move and who could blame him? It doesn't matter how much is bid, if the player doesn't want to leave he wont. whereas if his head does get turned you are then left trying to appease an unsettled player who wants away. that's why we wont get your bidding starting at £20m

No we wouldn't

would we not?. We seem to think that now we are in the Premier League and have a bit of money behind us we are able to keep hold of our better players whatever the price.

1.2million in 2008 - 10/12 in 2013 isnt a bad bit of business.

I hope its all a load of BS but lets be realistic here, it would seriously improve his chances of international football which we know Morgan wants
