Add into the above Trump’s clear and rapid cognitive decline and the situation is not looking good. The number of clips showing Trump stumbling over his words is growing. His boasting about taking three tests has also backfired. These are not IQ tests as he liked to pretend. They are checking his cognitive state.

A question of cognitive functioning, from the poster who has managed to learn nothing in all his years on the forum.

Oh, the ironing!

The bloke's gone properly mental. Now threatened to target Iran’s civilian energy infrastructure, including power plants, oil wells and Kharg Island, if Tehran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

“Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be, and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately ‘Open for Business,’ we will conclude our lovely ‘stay’ in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island."

That'll calm the markets.

The daft prick doesn't appreciate the likelihood of a tit for tat response.

The daft prick doesn't recognise that any of his actions, whether Iran or Tariffs, might have an adverse impact. Either that or he just doesn't care.

He's certainly got the "tit" part down.

So steam in, create an issue, realise you can't fix it, make threats, come to your senses, sulk, fuck off home. What a prick.

That’s Trump in a nutshell. Commentators were saying at the start that he would get bored after a few days, lose interest and do something else, like go after Cuba.Intelligence chiefs were saying at the start that the reason previous Presidents haven’t gone after Iran is because (in Trumpspeak) they hold the cards, as in the Straits of Hormuz. The trouble is he doesn’t like being told no, so surrounds himself with lackeys who give him what he wants.

How is this deranged idiot still in office?

Democracy, ( US style ). 77 million voters followed by a compliant sycophantic Congress.

I guess he's off the shortlist for next year's Nobel Peace Prize.

He'll bully his way to it. He's convinced that Iran were a danger to the US, and the world, so he'll see this as a world saving exercise. What a hero.

The best bit is that he's expecting Iran and/or the Gulf states to pay reparations.

Madder than a mad thing.

Big bad royal navy..  hmm has hegsketh been watching some black and white news reels.

Towards the end of WW2, on the approaches to the Japanese mainland, the British Pacific Fleet met up with the USN, greeted by the message "How's the second largest navy doing ?". The RN replied "We are fine, how's the second best ?"

If the Strait of Hormuz is so safe, surely the Yanks can arrange the escort for the tankers. Their ships are already in the vicinity.

Trump probably doesn't want reminded of escorts.

They have plenty of oil and gas mate, so it's our problem.

5 mins ago he was going to destroy Iran's energy infrastructure over Hamuz, now it's someone else's issue.

To an extent…but Israel is definitely his problem and Mad Ben and his equally far right religious extremist government. He has no leverage over him at unlike all his predecessors and a nutcase of a Zionist son-in-law. He’s also got a lot of Trump corporation assets to protect there. He’s in the shit and he knows it.

Europe could just cut a deal with the IRG. We don’t want any part in Israel’s loony war and occupation of South Lebanon. Not much incentive to keep Trump happy any more.
