Good. Tory Tim is an absolute bellend. Get rid of the whopper Robbie Gibb and it can’t get any worse.

Hopefully replaced by a DG who doesn’t want to suck Farage’s dick and dispatches the horrific Chris Mason, Reform’s Press Officer.

I'm pretty sure the main issues weren't that they were being too friendly to the right in politics. It has rather a lot more to do with the left leaning bias at the bbc.

It looked dreadful and someone senior had to be held accountable for it.

As usual, there was lots going on behind the scenes as this link from the been says

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c07m2v1z4evo

As usual, it had been known about for some time, taking a leak to bring a out consequences.

Regardless of the political persuasions of the board, it was a dreadful editorial decision. One where it looks as though managers did little to heed warnings.

Ridiculous that Panorama felt the need to edit the speech in the first place. No one needs to edit what trump says to make him look a muppet/a liar/complicit/racist/corrupt/a thick cunt.

Unbelievable they are resigning of this. Shows how beholden and scared the BBC are to right wing agitation.

It's a shame the BBC didn't come out more aggressively. They could have done loads of cuts of that day with the same impact - every time Trump says "fight", "fighting" or "fight like hell" or personally I would have overlaid his "go down there and cheer on the senators" with footage of the violence itself. .

There is nothing misleading in what the BBC did. He whipped up that crowd into violence and violence happened.

A braver BBC would have come out and said that. And/Or pointed out the bullshit the Telegraph puts out.

What is bollocks is people pretending that until Panorama was broadcast no one had ever linked Trumps speech on Jan 6th with the violence that happened that day.

Off the things trump says and does, there was no need to knowingly edit an investigative news-based programme in that way, then tell us all the “search for truth is on”.

The BBC needs to adapt or it’s slow death will continue.

That's not the only claims in the memo either.

Well, I tried to tell you so (Yes, I did)
But I guess you didn't know
As thesaddest story goes

Baby, now I got the flow
'Cause I knew it from the start
Baby, when you broke my heart
That I had to come again
And show you that I'd win

You lied to me
All those times I said that I loved you
You lied to me
Yes, I tried, yes I tried
You lied to me
Even though you knew I'd die for you
You lied to me
Yes, I cried, yes I cried

Return of the Twat! (There it is)

Return of the Twat! (Come on)

Return of the Twat! (Oh my God)

You know that he'll be back (here he is)

You could substitute BBC with democracy and that sentence still works.

Every chance (hopefully) in the neari-ish future the license fee will be binned, the the BBC will be free from the shackles and scrutiny that come with it

What do you think it needs to adapt to? Almost impossible to please people with anything at the moment in any area, let alone survive as a balanced broadcaster. Most seem angry and want to shout at anyone they disagree with.

Remove the license fee, then it can adapt to what ever it likes (within the bounds of the law and regulation).

Doing nothing, or trimming around the edges, will allow for its slow demise to continue. The funding model is not sustainable given so many opt-out of paying for it every year. If there was a move to change the wording around the collection of funds from the population, ie, everyone with a portable electronic device must pay (or else), it would expedite its journey to oblivion.

Obviously much of the grief it gets is largely from its news pillar, but there is little/no appetite to separate that from the BBC itself.  Ignoring the heat around Bashir, Rolf Harris and Saville… there seems to be no end to high profile shit from the BBC, some of which is due to the higher standard the public places on it (because of the fee in the main).

Farage has just accused the BBC of bias. That would be the disproportionate platform they gave him during his Brexit campaign and the same exposure they are giving his current grift, the Reform Party, then.

Oh, I don't know. How about telling the truth and not doctoring speeches to try and fool you gullible people into thinking something else was said or meant. How anyone can deny the BBC are out of order in what they did is beyond belief.

You really are a dope nic. I don’t think that anyone is saying that the BBC’s Panorama programme made a mistake. I also don’t think that anyone other than you and GM listened to Trump’s speech at the time and didn’t know that he was inciting an insurrection.

I don’t know how you manage it, but every day you managed to add 2 + 2 and come up with the answer = wibble 🤪

I am not sure you appreciate the magnitude of what Panorama did! They doctored a speech to portray negatively a presidential candidate of the world's most powerful democracy shortly before an election.

You could argue that they did not need to doctor his speech to demonstrate that but they did and the integrity of the BBC's impartiality has been massively compromised.

It’s a mistake but funny how many are pissing their pants as if all their other news is so pure. BBC annoy everyone but these cunts like the Daily Mail desperate to bring everyone along. Sack that little weasel Mason and I’ll be happy

They’ve got form for this. They doctored Lammys Mastermind appearance to portray him as an idiot.

The difference is the licence fee.

Yes but Panorama has been dodgy for the last 30 years. Always been edited to be sensationalist. It’s one programme.

Yes, they doctored a speech and they should not have done. It didn’t alter the intention of what he was saying though and that, surely, should be the bigger issue here? Yet again he manages to turn a negative into a positive for himself and some people are happy to let him get away with it.

It does not matter if what they did was related to his intentions. They consciously gave us untruths on their premier current affairs show., stuff old Vlad would do to us during an election, if he could.

considering the BBC tells us daily they are searching for the truth, throw in the telly tax, throw in the other crap stuck to them, amazed they are still going in the current form
