Making easy work of the championship and a good option when you need to grind yourself some points.  Seem to remember he partnered Ings well at times over the last couple of years.  Gone too soon?

GW37 Ones to watch: Shane Long

I think we’re currently so bad, you could make a case for any of the loan players who went out in Jan.

Has he? Just went back over last 3 games, omitted once, 2 appearances as sub, 1 goal.

Are we re-defining "on fire" as "has scored a goal?" Yeah, more than we have done of late.

He's scored twice now. 1 goal in each of 2 1-2 defeats. So both goals have no value (in terms of results), still good to see he has equalled his tally for Saints 3 years ago, and only needs 1 more to equal last season. Waiting for the next Long goal could be a long wait (pun intended).

At work I'm sat next to two lifelong Bournemouth fans, paid up season ticket holders, and they just laugh about him, we really don't need him back.

Giving him the extension was just risk management, if he was back at Saints I'd personally start N'Lundulu over him every time.

Do people not remember the Shrewsbury game about 2 months ago. Standing out as the worst player on the pitch when it was made up of kids and league 1 players was some feat. Hes done. Would take him doing well for Boremuff so we can get a fee out of them or somebody else

Nope. Doing okay there as the Championship is his level. Did sweet FA here for too long. Would sooner bloody youngsters for the future. We're going to need them.

As above.  And whoever authorised the two year extension should have their salary docked for rank stupidity.
