I had him as more of a box to box, Fernandes type. I’d say all our current centre mid options are all similar in that sense (Downes, Fernandes, Charles, Smallbone). I want a Tadic and a Romeu type for balance.

The problem I see us at moment is lack of pace in transition and pace wide -Rudoni wouldn’t offer that anyway.

Our esteemed Armenian colleague has just scored a well taken goal against Sochi

I hear that if he scores 2 he will come to us, if he scores 3 he will go to Lens...

Or I have no idea what happened earlier that you're referring to.

Agree with you there, absolute necessity for us right now

Will said he specifically wanted some new players with championship experience though. If not him then where are we getting that from? Fellows?

Fellows might be the ones, but Downs and Quarshie didn't have that experience

We have Baz, MaCarthy, Manning, Stephens, Wood, Edwards, THB, Fraser, Downes, Charles, Armstrong and Archer...as first team players with plenty of Championship experience. I think we can afford to add one or two flair players without it.

...what? Why would I need a french translation of that.

So you can show everyone how clever you are by clicking the translate button and translating it back to English?

didn't Gakpo score a hat full of goals while we were on the verge of agreeing a fee?

I never was and the way this was played out in press always looked like agent touting him wages and fees we were paying.

Yeah, they're definitely playing us and, having seen that brilliant free kick, we need to leave the Aston Martin showroom and start looking at a selection of second hand runabouts. We aint getting this feller.

He was happy to come to us at that point. But I recall him saying that if he scored 3 goals, he would stay at PSV. The rest is history, and we were instead rewarded with Larios and Edozie!

Still said he wanted to sign some players with championship experience obviously he means in addition to what we have already.

Like all his brilliant 'jokes' he has got the basics of it wrong (tagged the wrong person) and has to explain it afterwards.

Side-splitting, I'm sure you'll agree.

The next couple of weeks are going to be interesting. We need to make at least 4 signings in that time.

A RB, GK - reluctant to say cover, as I want someone to push Bazunu, a 10 and a wide player. If I'm greedy, I'd say another CM and another wide player - but realistically, I think we'll get 4 in the door. Maybe 3 loans towards the end, and one cash signing (maybe that Leo guy)

I think we desperately need a decent centre forward because there is always something wrong with Stewart and Downs needs to be given some intensive coaching - without those two we are left with AA through the middle and we all know how well that goes.

Sigh. I can't be arsed to see this drag out all week, to the inevitable conclusion of him signing a new contract with them.

Count me surprised if it goes any other way! I'd be delighted if it does.

I don't disagree either, but it's probably going to be a toss up on other positions as I can't see us making that many additions. We're clearly being careful with the cash.

If we want perfection, we'd get a RB, CM, LW, RW 10 and ST. But we know that won't happen, so we just need to work out what's more important. We currently have no wide players, or 10's, so that would be more important to me, and maybe RB given that Fraser was there today.

How many more seasons do we have to wait for a good striker? We've been trying to sort this out for an eternity and it is holding us back. Every team needs a strong guy to lead the line and bang in a few goals - it's a crucial part of the spine of any side. We cannot make do and mend for yet another season.

Will Still has admitted we need another keeper. Dylan Moody at 17 years old needs to be getting gametime to develop, not travelling with the 1st team.

Sorry, forgot the GK - yes, that's also a priority too. That would also be a position that goes ahead of ST.

Can't see him renewing.  Think Leeds, Everton or Brentford will slip in at the minute. Looks like a fab player and will go up the food chain unfortunately.

We don't know if we don't have one yet, Downs has been here 10mins. Impossible to say how he'll work out.

how much did Downs cost? Surely not 'big bucks' for this league

If so, he is our new striker and that will be that

Fuck this shit. He's not coming here. Just concentrate on players that are likely to want to join us

It's just a load of bollocks. Transfers don't go on like this, particularly for championship clubs.

if it was imminent, you would assume he would be on the plane tomorrow, with picture of him signing the fake contract tues/weds and staying down for training and the game on Sat....

Pretty evident that he's waiting for a better option to come along. Just stringing us along until a bottom half Premier League team inevitably swoops in.

Didn't he already turn us down in early July, as he thought he'd get offers from a top European league?
