The total income without parachute payments is buttons and they have brought fuck all in over the last few years in terms of fees. Championship wages bills tend to be way too high and sales are needed to cover the losses - we know that better than most.

Archer (Hopefully Azaz and Fellows can bring him into the game more than the current lot)

Isn't a bad team at all. Toss up between Archer and Stewart for the striker. Stewart provides more in open play, but Archer provides more goals if given a chance.

Then you've got Fraser, Stewart, Armstrong, Downs and Matsuki as attacking depth and we all know about the plethora of centre-backs. Bree and Taylor also fine backup options for this level.

You are right, and Bree has figured too often to be a guy we are pushing out the door...but the alternative is to buy a young talent that by the end of the season has displaced Roerslev and is good enough to start in the PL after we get promoted.

Can't help thinking we're an experienced CB and GK short. Why we never went in for Viktor Johnasson after his performance at St Mary's for Rotherham I'll never understand.

Johannes Spors at the fan forum did talk about a balancing act of how much you spend. In that you need to spend enough to get promoted, but if you hold back some, it helps your spending power when you want to sign PL level players after a promotion. If we just blew all the incoming money now on signings that are at a level where they want the Championship, it leaves us with less to work with next season when we might need a huge outlay to stay up.

Certainly agree on the keeper.  Shame, as we are doing decent business now.  We’ll be a force going forward, but will need to be with tissue hands in goal.

I don't think we'll sign another centre back. We have five good enough for the Championship (after a promotion, it wouldn't be). That is when additions will be needed.

Signing a player based on seeing one game isn't a good idea.

these could be our 5th choices for all we know.  I'd of thought Azaz was at lest third choice after Spertsyan and Rudoni. That's the way it goes though unless you have more money than you know what to do with it.

Yeah, I just get the feeling they could develop into a decent pair. Archer is nothing without a partner from what I've seen. Could play them a bit like we did Adams and Armstrong. A lot will depend on Stewart being able to stay fit so, assuming we don't sign another centre forward, it'll be a gamble unless Downs makes rapid progress.

If they do sign him it seems like he would be a back up winger behind Robinson and Fellows possibly? If he has a good work rate you can understand why Still would want him with the high pressing game but at a lesser cost.

Sadly loyalty is a rarity in football these days. On the surface Azaz, Fellows and Jander more than great value in return.
