1. I attend every home match and keep a tally of how many half and half scarves ( for me, this is a definitive recognisable criteria of a tourist visitor) I see in a little note pad, in pencil in case I need update it. I also add those who do not know where they are going in places i know are ST seats. This, to me, is also a recognisable criteria.
2. One qualification I personally have aside from my scientific approach - albeit in a variable data sample - is my attending every home match and generally doing a stroll around ground before shuffling along to Northam.  I feel this gives me something of an advantage than if I were, say, to sit in The Unity until 7 mins before kick off then half jog up to the ground.
3. My third way of working it out is good old people watching. That, and a high degree of intuition of who is and who is not a first timer to St. Mary’s. My observational abilities are professional in that regard.
4. Occasionally, I will act as a Tour guide to seemingly lost St Mary’s visitors. I approach them casually like and kindly offer directions. I usually send them to the Cruise ships and The Titanic exhibition. Never get any complaints.

Other than that @Matthew Le God I guess it’s just a personal opinion. 😁

I'm stuck between a heart and a laughing emoji. Have you a preference? 🙂

Excellent.

How have you worked that out?

TBH if you ever go to a game you will be able to work it out for yourself, its not rocket science to spot them !

It's got so many Man City fans wound up 😅😅 Comments about enjoying life in the championship etc. What they don't realise is we will (hopefully) enjoy the championship alot more. They obviously thought their team of superstars would thrash us ( as did I to be honest) and now Diaz and their fans have thrown a strop. It's great 🤣🤣🤣

If we're totally honest, that was up there as the worst game of football we've probably ever had to watch at St Mary's, but it's the sort of game you can get behind as it's a backs against the wall job.

But Man City, imo, were really bad. They should be pretty embarrassed with their efforts, as I thought they were very half-arsed with everything they did. We defended really well in blocks, but they did make it easy for us as their moves and positioning were pretty obvious most of the time.

I didn't imagine getting to the holy grail of 12 points against Man City though, so for all the crap they've given us this year, it's only fair that we credit them for that resilient showing. Special praise to Bednarek as well who I thought had his best game of the season. I thought Aribo added a lot when he came on in the 2nd half, he's not a bad player and someone who'd do a job for us next year - but he's off to Turkey as far as I know.

Wellington - he's our first choice next season, we don't need to buy a LB. I think he's a proper player, really like the look of him in every game we've seen him play. Surprised he fell out of the side for as long as he did, he's a level above Manning.

It does frustrate me that we can be that concentrated against Man City, but so totally out of it against 'equals' in Leicester - the mentality of the squad is all wrong, but that's for the summer to sort out.

Just out of interest if City had scored yesterday and we lost would you still be calling that a proper performance?

🤡

Because it was a proper performance, they didn’t.

City were poor.

On the flaky stream I was watching they kept mentioning City beat us 1-0 before going on an unexpected poor run this season. Well if they'd watched that game it would've been obvious how awful City played, it's just we are a truly terrible team at the mo'.

This game we got a smidgeon more luck and put a tad more effort in.

Also when did defending get excluded from being a footy skill. For some years now derogatory comments are thrown at any team that sets themselves up to do so. We've had occasional 'park the bus' games at St Marys where the opposition set out to fustrate in previous seasons. It's ruddy boring but hey, a valid tactic esp' if the opposition have vastly superior resources.

Agree with your comments on Aribo and Wellington.  Both were very decent yesterday.

Wellington has impressed me every time I’ve seen him. Proper defender.

Him being dropped was pretty odd. He's definitely got something about him.

Just came on here to comment on the boy Wellington and you've beaten me to it.  Thought he looked very good yesterday, disciplined, switched on, has good ball control, looks to get forward and if he'll be here next season then he looks a real asset.

Good and important result yesterday, bollocks to Pep, Diaz, and Sutton, and the fact they had 26 shots, hit the bar etc. We were due a bit of luck, especially in injury time. The one point is all we craved.

Anyway, Simon Rusk - Football Genius. I just hope Rasmus and Spors managed to nail him and Nivea down to the five year contract extensions before they left the stadium last night. We can't let this opportunity slip through our hands...

Just watched the extended highlights and it looked to me that Mr Ramsdale might quite like playing for Saints. At the end, he looked chuffed to bits and was celebrating with the fans, acknowledging the support. Is there any chance in the world we could actually persuade him to stay? 🤞

This game proved that our strategy was totally wrong for all season. As we are unable to attack which is well recognized, we should have concentrated on our defense and do some counter attacks so that we can at least have a chance to get some 0-0 results. However, we always pressed up high circulating the ball aimlessly, exposing our defence and resulting in goals conceded.

I think he'll end up back at Bournemouth tbh.

He is a solid left back, puts in crunching tackles, and goes a bit Brazilian at times. However he isn't pacy and I'm not sure he is the sort of defender who can rampage forward.

Don't get your hopes up though, he may be shifted out to Turkey or similar. The fact that he hasn't been playing much would suggest that's the intention.
