Any chance of applying your expertise in football management to predicting where certain managers will end up...? ;)

Mystic Willo 😂

At least my betting on Saints games has seen a bit of profit over recent years 💷

The most predictable team out there.

Reminds me of that chap from Glasgow (or was it Bournemouth?) that used to post on here a while back... Before your time Willo, so you won't remember him, but he used to like an insurance bet too.... ;)

last year was so straight forward, minimum of three goals a game for the most part. Or for the opposition to score the next goal etc 😅

A new manager bounce? That's better than we've had for two years. Get him in immediately!

We don’t get new manager bounces, remember.

Not even WGS who worked out superbly did really. Drew with Ipswich 3-3 and then a few defeats at Fulham and elsewhere. The first SMS win v Charlton turned the corner and Spurs Boxing Day win, albeit scrappy, pulled us out of the bottom three and then Chelsea hammered at Stamford Bridge.

Probably only Ralph December 2018 after a defeat first up at Cardiff. Poch improved us but the results took a few games to come through. Adkins won a huge streak of games but poor run to start with.

Seem to remember we divebombed for a few games when Burley came in (after the thought we’d made a master signing).

But credit where it’s due we had an 89 minute new manager bounce with ‘Arry. Shame it went down the pan between then and the 91st minute or whatever it was. And then for a few weeks after.

Although I can't stand the bloke he is a decent manager. Don't know if he's attainable or not but if he is then it seems a no brainer to me.

Don’t be daft. He won’t be attainable for us,and SR won’t be interested as he knows more about football than Rasmus ever will. And that would never do.

He had a win rate of 29% at Bournemouth, which, although not good enough for them, is, by our standards, good. It means we should expect more than 4 wins over the next 50 games if he is in charge. We can't ask for more than that, can we?

I'm yet to see a serious suggestion who I'd confidently say would do a better job that Challinor 🙃

I’ll be honest that prior to seeing his name mentioned on here, I had never heard of Challinor. Had to look up online about him and what he has done at Stockport is amazing.

However, if the board decides to sack Still, I don’t think Challinor is the right replacement. I think we need someone with experience in the Championship and possibly the Premier League. We are in free fall and need someone who can stop that and build the foundations for a fresh push to the Premier League. Someone who’s seen it, been around for a while and will get the respect from the players instantly.

Challinor, Rosenior etc are all great prospects and will likely do well. Still included. But for a young manager to join us now could be very damaging for their career. We are becoming a managers graveyard if we continue like this.

Brendan Rogers is available? 🤔

Don’t particularly like him as a personality, but he knows how to develop a winning formula.

Yup, I'd go for him. Tbh I'd go for nearly anyone ATM.

Long throw-in training would be top dollar

And not only that, when you watch Stockport you can see that he has coached a very effective way of defending against them as well.

Honestly if we signed Brendan Rogers i would be done with this club, i absolutely fucking hate the bloke after the snide comments he made about our club when he was Liverpool manager.

Has anybody read the Celtic club statement calling out BR to be a lying little rat!

If I recall, he was disparaging against the clubs willingness to push on, when we were in and around the top 4. His comments were snide at the time, but in hindsight, they were very on point. I cannot stand the man either, if he was made of chocolate, he'd eat himself. However, it isn't about that. Could he do a better job than Still? Could he pushback against Rasmus and Co.? Could he get us up the table and secure a play off spot at least? If the answer is yes to all three, he would be a more than obvious choice.

I watched the second half, and highlights of the first, and was suitably impressed.

I did however get a bit of a 'spiritual home' vibe from him in the post-match interview, which made me think of those managers that do really well when in a relative comfort zone but then struggle when they move on to other clubs...

And as others have pointed out, coming to a basket case of a club (as we are at the moment) could ruin him!
