He can't play as a lone CF and isn't going to get on the end of the crosses that Fellows and Scienza put in. His performances as captain have not been inspirational and he's easily bullied off the ball by defenders. Throw in his comments about not trying to the previous manager and I'm not sure it's such a bad thing.

When did he say the thing about not trying ? I missed that

It's high time to get rid of him. We need a striker over 1.85m tall who can also play as a lone striker.

With our track record of signing strikers that would be a disasterous move.

We have needed a tall striker alongside Armstrong not instead of.

Who’s playing no. 9 if he goes?

The same January we signed Onuachu and Sulemana, Bournemouth signed Outtara and Semenyo. We paid £40m for our pair. Bournemouth paid £30m for theirs. We got £24m back from their sales. Bournemouth got £104m back.

Good players do move in January, we just can't identify them.

Nobody at the club with any footballing nous capable of identifying them.

Joel Piroe? Previously linked, proven at the level, not getting games and rumoured to be on the way out. I’ve not seen loads of him but he has a bit more height and physicality compared to Arma and Archer while still being able to play a bit.

he doesn't really lead the line like a number 9. He knows where the net is, but he isn't quick or good in the air or terribly physical.

Not for much longer if the latest report is true.

He can want to leave to his heart's content but he's under contract here and I can't imagine we're entertaining the idea of selling him until the summer. Selling him now would be madness and as much as people love to pretend SR are actually mad, they aren't.

I wouldn’t blame him.

He isn’t the problem.

The problems run a lot deeper than him. Given that he has been the most creative and scored our goals this season you can’t slag him off in that regard.

I wouldn’t want to be at the club if I was a player.

I know he’s the champ top scorer. I know we won’t replace his goals because our scouts are idiots…

but I still would not give a single shit if he goes.

Im so bored of watching him mince about missing easy chances, never winning a header, rarely competing.

At least if he goes the club would be forced to do something different.

(Even if different ends up being even worse…) That’s how bored I am of everything about this team

...not to mention the club were more than happy to farm him out on loan That must have seriously damaged the relationship between club and player. very surprised he didnt depart in the summer, but  guess we didnt get the right offer.

not forgetting that he was shite for WBA while he was on loan

I would sell AA and anyone else who wants to leave this month and in the summer. We aren't going up this season and won't be next season if we don't change from top to bottom.

Boring transfer window, so here's my take for a bit of fun...

Spors and Rasmus Teams (Ironic) call...

RA: Hey Sporsy, it's Rasmus.

JS: What do you want now?

RA: Just a quick chat about the January transfer window. I can't be long, I'm about to deliver a Ted Talk.

JS: I may regret asking this, but what's the topic?

RA: 'Football injuries. The way forward.' We're going to sack all our physios and doctors and use holistic healing methods. Crystals, seaweed enemas, chanting with bells. Our players will return at super fast speed and I will be hailed a football genius again.

JS: Again?

RA: Brentford. That was all me. Anyway, just wanted to say you must be exhausted after signing that GK, so take the rest of the month off. We don't need anyone else now that Shea Charles is receiving seaweed enemas.

JS: Is Dragan ok with this?

RA: Absolutely. I explained it all to him by performing a thirty second mime dance on TikTok. It's going to revolutionise communication.

JS: (Sighs) Anything else?

RA: Yes, I'm changing our captain. It's Gavin Bazunu.

JS: He's going to captain the team from Stoke?

RA: The opposition will never expect that. Especially when we play Stoke.

JS: What about AA?

RA: He's got a new role handing out Saints shirts to prize winners, especially women who have never been to a match before. He's great at that.

JS: He's just messaged me to say he wants to leave in January.

RA: Oh, cool. I'm thinking we play without strikers anyway 6-5-0.

JS: That's 12 players.

RA: I know. Genius. Guess you've got one more job to do then. Let me know how much we get for him.

JS: I'll email you.

RA: I'd prefer a thirty second mime dance on Tik Tok.

JS: (Ends call).

The current form is relegation form. We need to focus on staying up this season, that means retaining Armstrong……

It is, but I'd still sell him for the right price. If someone wants to get mental and jizz £15m on him this month - let them have at it. We've got loan spots open, get them filled and we should have enough to stay up. He's not popular but I think Archer could score enough goals to keep us up if he plays regularly, and that would plump him up for a summer sale also.

That's a sure way to ensure relegation to League 1

Okay fair enough. Useful but perhaps not what we need.

We have bought Scandinavian attacking players after scoring 2 against Man City before.... Elyounnousi did that in the Champions League as well

I’d forgotten about that(or blanked it out)…..😕…..surely we couldn’t have lightning strike again in the same place…..

Literally all the other clubs in the Champ are busy strengthening, loaning out, and we're busy doing....f*** all? SR decided since their last January window was shit they'd go for the same again by doing sweet FA? Just depressing....

You can always pick and choose shite. Everybody creaming themselves over Brighton & Bournemouth. Fucking hell, we had years picking up decent talent, then replacing it with decent talent, and did better with it than either of those teams (or Brentford for that matter).

Don't think anyone is creaming themselves over Brighton and Bournemouth and yes, we had a spell when we did sensible business in the transfer market. Unfortunately those times are long gone and we are light years behind the two south coast Prem clubs and now in free fall.

With all our Danish connections we should be all over Kasper Hogh who has just scored two goals against Man City. Apparently Norwich have been linked….!

Sounds spot on - 1 goal in previous 16 games….

He can't be any good cos clearly Ankersen doesn't rate him.

Yes let's sell our top scorer and rely on a striker who spontaneously combusts when he touches grass, and another who only turns up against Birmingham....

That would be a stupid move and short sighted.

Sensible option would be try and loan in Piroe, scores goals at this level.

Either that or put in a cheeky one for Sargent or Selech

Everyone slags off Adam Armstrong despite him for years demonstrating he is good at this level.

Those same people will be moaning and whining if we sold him this window and we had Ross Stewart and Cameron Archer to finish our season. 😂

Ronaldo he isn’t, but he is still by far a stand out player in our squad.

Likewise as I mentioned on the last page, could you blame him for wanting to go?
He was messed around last season with Juric and the club, chucked out on loan when we’d have been better off keeping him.

Also ask yourself, if you were a player would you want to be around this bad smell of a club right now?

He's been playing like he doesn't want to be here. Just like a lot of them.

Wasn't Arma one of the ones who walked straight down the tunnel at the end of the Hull or Boro game when Tonda had to haul most of the squad back who were doing the same, to go and clap the fans? Yet Arma continued down the tunnel. Shite attitude from the player, our captain (lol). Could the few 'home truths' after the Hull game have resulted in a bit of a bust up which has led to this story coming out?
