Football Special Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Great news everybody! We get to go to St Mary's again in a few days 😀 Just heard Sheffield United had two players sent off at Charlton today who will be suspended for our game, we love playing teams who are missing players , what a gift from the football Gods 2 2
Mboto Gorge Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I reckon He will actually start with 4 at the back, we will then go a goal down due to someone not doing their job properly and nothing to do with the formation….and he will immediately resort to 5 at the back by half time. 0-2 defeat. Bunch of cunts 1 2
S-Clarke Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago At this stage, who really cares anymore. The players clearly don't give a shit. 10 1
Baird of the land Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Hopefully today was the death knell of the 5-2-3 as a regular formation If there isn't a reaction on Wednesday, we're in real danger of getting embarassingly sucked into the relegation fight with Portsmouth. I'd like to see something like the below. Peretz Jelert THB Wood Welington Charles Bragg Fellowes Scienza Armstrong Stewart  5
Mboto Gorge Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) As has been said, it’s pretty obvious now that we have a toxic horrible lazy bunch of self entitled players who aren’t giving their all and largely dont give a shit, who have very little respect for the fans too - yet we are all relying on these tossers to make our weekends better. It’s actually becoming demeaning. Edited 16 hours ago by Mboto Gorge 6
badgerx16 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Supporting Saints is like being a gambling addict chasing their losses; it will all come good next time.   ( Only it doesn't ). 4

die Mannyschaft Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Saints 1-4 Sheffield United. We got torn apart up there and Ross got us out of the crap. We won't win another game this season with the players we have or the manager. More sideways, slow, weak, boring football. Â

Willo of Whiteley Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago ITS TIME TO GO AGAIN A FULLY ERECT AND DEFENSIVELY SOLID BACK FIVE THAT IS TOTALLY ABLE TO KEEP A CLEAN SHEET. ITS TONDA TIME

bpsaint Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I’m hoping this is bad enough to get Tonda sacked, so we might go to Fratton with a bit of a bounce. 7

He'd be the first one I'd bomb out of the club and should never pull the shirt on again as far as I'm concerned. 7
Harry_SFC Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Peretz, Jelert, THB, Quarshie, Welington, Bragg, Charles, Matsuki, Fellows, Scienza, Stewart. Lots of changes needed. 4

In the first 5 minutes today he had me swearing at the screen, we're dicking around at the back, he receives the ball in space and plays it first time to Wood.... Who is in our penalty area with a man closer to him than Downes, who should have just turned upfield. WTF. Then second half he steams into a challenge just in their half, doesn't get the bounce and lets his momentum take him towards the oppo goal throwing his hands up in the air like a drama queen. Get back behind the ball you TWAT. 6

I wouldn't mind him as our manager to sort a few of the players out, saw an interview with him once where he mentioned spending his youth development years at The Dell so he might have a soft spot for the club, he was also there with Phil Parkinson now Wrexham manager, oddly neither of them ever made a first team appearance for Saints but have gone on to have long careers in the game. Odds on Danny Ings getting a goal?  2

Willo of Whiteley Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Lube up and spread those cheeks fellas. You’re going to take a pounding! Sheffield United scoring at least three. 1
miltonroad Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Sadly if we do get a result on Wednesday, this pathetic group will think it’s mission accomplished for now, which means we’ll get absolutely pumped at the fish shed. 1

Maybe swap Armstrong and Scienza starting positions, and you could argue over the CB pair, but that's got to be the way forwards (please stay fit, Stewart...!!!!).
Appy Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago We’ll lose, Ings will probably score and attendances will continue to dwindle. 1
markr27 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The rot has set in and needs to be cut out. Was Romeu bought in to try and realign the ship and stop it sinking? Yet, his projected presence and respect was pissed away by his obvious lack of match fitness and poor on field performances. Some players seemingly have too much influence as well, whether that be verbal or contractual. Not good.  1

He seems pretty quiet to me. Probably trying to maintain his fitness, which we know is an issue for him. Certainly doesn't seem to want to be here and probably looking for a move out asap. Jander and Bragg are way more visible and stronger in the tackle and would be my preferred partnership in midfield. However they need more support. Â

Agree he is quiet on the field but he strikes me as an immature character - like a student who forms a little gang and is disruptive. Some of his interviews in the past have led me to see him in this light. I just can't shake off this image of him clowning around during training, putting little effort in and influencing others. He never really got over the sacking of his mate Russboy. Maybe I'm wrong and he's nothing like this. 1

Osvaldorama Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago For me, Downes really epitomises how bad our coaching and management is.  He was actually a decent player when he arrived, ok not so good on the turn and can’t shoot, but he was very good for the championship. We’ve somehow turned him into one of the worst midfielders in the league. The formation & tactics just don’t help him at all, he’s not smart or mobile enough to play in a 2 or be creative. He can break up play and act as a metronome to tick the team over.  But he’s being asked to do more than that; it’s just not working at all. (Although a lot of it is probably just caused by the fact that he looks like he doesn’t want to be here.) We should offload this window tbh.  I’d love to see Manning gone too, ASAP 3

coalman Posted 34 minutes ago Posted 34 minutes ago Every so often our players are going to rouse themselves to "prove" that they've still got it. I have the sneaking suspicion that Wednesday is going to be one of those days. Followed by lots of chest thumping and press interviews. After all if they're not careful they might get a manager who makes them work hard. 2-1 to Saints (because clean sheets aren't our thing)
