Literally couldn’t give a toss, we drag it out every season. Just hoping there is more red than white this season.

Plain red training shirt looks smart though.

Wish I could tell my son that, with a birthday approaching he's keen to spend birthday money on it.

Apart from going to the trouble of posting your thoughts about it on an internet football forum...? ;)

Good to see that the kit is going to be manufactured in Southampton rather than some factory on the other side of the world...

(I may have misinterpreted the gist of the teaser of course... ;) )

The teaser doesn't really seem to fit with the fairly standard shirt in the leaked image. They seem to be leaning heavily into the heritage angle here.

Best see a doctor about that, you can get treatment for that kind of thing.

You do realise that the bullshit "story" behind every shirt release is just a last minute afterthought for marketing purposes, right?

I haven't seen the leaked image, but assume it's just red and white stripes. Which is going to be sold as "out heritage".

Southampton looks a right dump in that montage.  Should have shown Tudor House, John Lewis, and Tariq Manzils.

Not enough heritage, FFS.

It's well known that St Mary's decided on forming a football side, in order to lose weight following the rise of the Southampton Waffle Makers Society.

Aren't red and white stripes "heritage" ?

That's if they are pure and simple , not buggered about . (Although a plain red back detracts from that in my book).

Solid red and wear stripes with hopefully the blue shorts and red and white stripe socks.

Just saw the price! £35!? £35 for a training top!

A standard football kit shirt used to cost that the last time I bought one outright!

Looks like a plain t-shirt for £4 is what I’ll stick with for five-a-side then. 😂

I believe @Matthew Le God may have expressed another view, having gone through the number of years in stripes, to those where we didn't have them.

Damn, mine says August. Did you have to confirm your address? Just seen a message from the seller from a week ago.

No, but I have in the past with other sellers. Just hope that it gets picked up soon as I've had a couple of instances where they've said it had been despatched but apparently not...

Yes, I have read that from him.

But the r/w stripes are still part of the 'heritage' of the club. Not sure even MLG would deny that. The phrase that seems to trigger him is when described as our 'traditional' kit.

Very true. Definitely part of it, with some different views on whether it's the definitive heritage look.

Which, if you tallied up all the kits by their distinct patterns, such as Sash/Quarters/Ajax/Sports Bra, rather than Stripes/Not Stripes, it actually probably would be.

Lets not get hopes up. If we are following the market trend there are some  horrendous and shocking efforts being served up this season.

https://www.footballshirtculture.com/new-kits.html

Los of subliminal patterns, and tonal features being added to designs. Castore especially are awful. Please Saints, never sign up with them.

But possibly the worst for a club with a tradition for a decent classic kit is Newcastle. Coventry not much better.

But Ajax and Feyenoord mange to keep within their traditions quite well.
