Midfield_General Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Has anyone bought the 50th anniversary shirt from DHGate? If so, is it obviously a snide? Thinking about getting the anniversary shirt for a friend and don't want to pay £120 for it but similarly don't want to get a DHGate one if they're obviously a poor imitation. If you put the DHGate one next to an official one from the shop, is it easy to tell the difference - e.g. different quality of material or quality of logos etc?
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago The Saints Kits thread had some folks that bought it, with some links to specific pages. Hopefully, that helps a bit. 1
Kenilworthy1959 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I got one from DH Gate and the quality is very good. It came with Puma tags and in a Puma bag. The only difference from the official shirt is that it has the sponsor on the front 1

Thank you Is DHGate any good for football kits? I've never bought anything off of these sort of sites, i always imagined them to be like the fake shirts you get in a Turkish genuine fakes shop.

From reviews on here and on other forums, DHGate get plenty of brilliant reviews. For the price it’s a bit of a no brainer. Just the delivery time and sizing that you can be unsure about. With the Saints anniversary shirt in particular (but most of them really) it all points to the fact that it’s the very same factories that churn out the replicas. I don’t think even a Chinese sweatshop is going to waste the time reverse engineering a design as complex as the anniversary shirt, with all the embedded signatures and what not. The shirts went on sale the same day as the official release, so the factories likely do a massive amount of overruns after the “official” ones get done and flog those through their own channels including DHGate. Even going back 5-10 years I used to use sites like that for buying shirts for playing five a side. I used to buy a couple every year, I can’t ever remember getting anything that didn’t look completely genuine. They even come with all the official tags and bags. Edited 6 hours ago by The Kraken 2

Good to know, like you say for the price it's a no brainer and if it's the same place making them might as well take advantage. I dont wear football kits but for kids its probably ideal, kids kit this season was something like 80 quid. Of course some will argue that the money doesn't go to the club, but football kits are an absolute rip off these days. 1

Absolutely scandalous, they deserve it if people look for other distributors. If the likes of DHGate aren’t using the same factories, then they’re surely getting hold of the original design work and using similar factories to knock them out. Like you I haven’t bought a shirt for a few years but as I said, the ones I got back when I used to buy them were flawless. Back then it was different in that you could only get the bigger sides in each country, but still a decent collection. Nowadays you can get so much. Ore, including our own extremely bespoke design. I saw the reviews of Saints fans on here when they received their shirts and it looked like everybody was delighted with the quality and the sizing. 1

They can get to absolute fuck. I was born a month after we won the Cup, so it's my 50th anniversary this year as well and it's made me kind of want one even though I don't actually ever wear football shirts. But that price/ mark-up is absolutely outrageous, and if the club want to try and take the piss out of the fans like that then two can play at that game and to be honest I couldn't give a toss if they get the money or not. I'll probably only ever wear it once or twice, maybe for a 5-a-side kickaround or in the event that we get to Wembley, so if the option is there to pay £11 + shipping for something which to the untrained eye is basically exactly the same and not like you say obviously some rubbish Kho Sanh Road knockoff, then that's absolutely fine for me. Anyway I'm going to get one off the back of the excellent feedback from others who have already bought one, so I'll report back Edited 3 hours ago by Midfield_General 1
Hatch Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago i got one and there is nothing wrong with it at all, I got one size up from what I normally wear.

If anything it is a little longer but fits great. Mine came in a Puma bag with all the relevant tags. It hasn’t got the sponsors name on it but it’s excellent, I was really surprised. Just be careful when ordering, you could quite easily end up with a home shirt with Aribo on the back if you aren’t paying full attention 🤣 Edited 52 minutes ago by beatlesaint
