So you turn up to spy on Boro training in a Saints tracksuit ??!! 🤣  The whole thing is absolute bullshit to wind up the sleepy Boro fans into a so called frenzy!!

Blame the Geneva Convention for that.

At this point, I think I'd be genuinely embarrassed to be a Boro fan. They needed this "distraction" (fabricated incident) to get there support going (beyond tin pot), have only just sold out, and after banging on all holier than thou about sporting integrity and cheating, it looks very likely that they're the ones who have been trying it on.

Saw one their wally’s on twitter saying “this is going to be the best atmosphere of the season now” :lol:

Now?

I think you might have cracked the case. Perhaps the guy was a deep cover Pompey agent, disguised as a Saints analyst, trying to derail our promotion hopes.

I think the key to all this is the fact that we are being asked to believe a spy turned up at Boro's training ground wearing a Saints football tracksuit. I mean presumably he realised that it wouldn't be a smart idea to give any clues away. Or are we meant to believe that he wore the tracksuit because he was on duty? He was then instructed to delete the footage from his phone presumably because there actually wasn't any - if there was surely that's a key piece of evidence. Can you imagine what the CPS would make of this nonsense 🙂

This smacks of somebody on a wind up to get themselves in the news and Boro, the press and news agencies have fallen for it hook line and sinker..

this sounds like a such a load of bollocks. I bet it's forgotten about never to be mentioned again well before the second leg kicks off, bar for some gloating chants from one of the two sets of fans.

You sure?

A Middlesbrough forum head case says we’re getting booted out of the playoffs and a 12 point deduction.

Ah, this is looking funnier by the day now 🤣

Tomorrow it’ll be “a 92 year old Saints fan who lives in the north-east was spotted walking through his local high street” 🤣😂

So, let me get this straight. Southampton allegedly send a junior intern all the way up to Middlesbrough to watch them train, take a few videos and then drive back to Southampton with the instruction presumably “this is a big job son, don’t get caught and if you do here’s a false moustache and fake nose. Go into their training complex and change into that”

Dear Lord 🙄

There are always plenty of heavies at professional football training grounds - that's a lot of valuable stock that needs protecting. Why didn't Boro round up a few and send them covertly to jump on the spy and then deliver him to the plod complete with incriminating Saints tracksuit and phone loaded with footage of the Boro stars going through their paces? Instead those dealing with the incident made him delete the incriminating evidence and sent him on his way whereupon, according to them, he went into a hotel toilet and made a quick change.

I love how this has gone from saints head data analyst , to suddenly a random junior intern. Almost like it’s total bullshit isn’t it?

If it’s a junior intern how have they identified he’s working for Southampton? Unlike a full time analyst he’s not showing up on any website for photographic identification

The story changes again... And now let me get this straight. Their security looked at CCTV after the fact and identified a junior intern from a club 500miles away. Thats bloody impressive!!!

The lads are air bound now leaving the sunny south coast to be greeted by thunderstorms up north! Hope the shit weather puts the dampeners on the Boro bus welcome tomorrow, forecast looks shite.

It seems like a very silly thing to do if true and not really sure we'd need to do anything like this as it's not like we're particularly fearing their incredible form or genius tactics.

Now it's not the first team analyst but a junior intern... who obviously we're entrusting our promotion with! I'm guessing Tonda is just a front and the real brains behind the operation is this random kid who may or may not have been filming something zoomed in on a mobile phone (surely great quality for analysis).

Next tactic will probably be to say something like how we didn't let Alfie Jones recover properly when he was in our youth team and that's why he's now out injured for them and that will be the only reason we could beat them. Or how we should've made Matt Targett spend more time in school so he could string two sentences together... 🤣

What's the EFL penalty if it turns out that Middlesborough made the story up?

They have to take Bazunu from us and make him their first choice keeper.

Imagine if their fans attack the coach etc. as a result of this.

What was all that chat about bringing the game in to disrepute, not treating opponents with respect etc. Some would call this cheating to get an unfair advantage.

Delicious really.

Yeah and how do they manage to identify a junior intern from photos on our club website? - he won't be in them!

Next twist in story is that someone has phoned our hotel and cancelled the booking. Caller claiming to be from Saints did have a thick Teeside accent, but Sharon on reception thought it purely coincidence

Yeh, that’s nothing. MI5 and MI6 will be all over this.

Heard on the grapevine from a bloke - after a few pints - who works at GCHQ Cheltenham that they’ve immediately suspended vetting anything to do with the Middle East conflict or the Kremlin spreading its influence. Appears main focus is on ‘Operation Smoggiegate’ and how Boro’s defence system has been compromised.

So from having a look on Twitter on this, apparently said intern analyst is identifiable on LinkedIn … but doesn’t have a profile picture… So how on earth have they narrowed that down then…?! a mental story over the last 24 hours 🤣

I'm reading through that Boro forum thread, if anything it's given this game a real edge. They're furious 🤣

They've got a few screenshots of posts in here, we're all Southern Chunts apparently.

Sounds like professional ambulance chaser, Steve Gibson, will be getting his lawyers on the case. For a bunch of tough northern sorts, they aren't half a bunch of fannies.

Next they’ll be going up to every Saints fan, holding them by the scruff of the neck and accuse them of being trousers, or SaintNL etc 🤣

IDIOT'S GUIDE TO SPYING

Wear a disguise but not one that connects you to the crime.

If you get caught try to delete any incriminating evidence on your phone. If those detaining you offer you the chance to delete the incriminating evidence that's a bonus but mainly they wouldn't be that stupid.

Also if you get caught leg it at the first opportunity - realistically, if you've already been caught this is unlikely to be an option. However, if they gave you the chance to delete evidence you could be on to a winner.

Use the most low tech equipment available in case it is confiscated - no drones or highly sophisticated cameras.

If your original disguise was not the most sensible choice, take a back-up. You may get the opportunity to run into a nearby hotel toilet and get changed.

If you are a lowly office junior with little relevant experience you are probably not ready for a career in espionage. Maybe read a few books by John Le Carre or Ian Fleming just to get a feel for it.

The search before the game won’t  be for bottles of booze, or offensive weapons but to see if anyone is ‘wired up’ with transmitters etc
