Midfield_General Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Darren Bent on Talkshite laughing it off and saying it's deserving of nothing more than a small fine and that everyone should move on. Goldstein agreeing. It's obviously not the barometer of quality discussion but at least some people haven't lost their fucking minds Edited 27 minutes ago by Midfield_General 9

The worst we will get is a points deduction but even that would be super harsh. A large fine and a goodwill donation to Middlesbrough's community trust by way of apology would be more appropriate. Or we can make them a massive offer for Hayden Hackney in the summer 2
Sunglasses Ron Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I expect what might help is if the club can demonstrate an appropriate ‘Code of Conduct’ that their staff have received and agreed to. A well run club should have something like this in place that suitably captures some of the key rules that apply to them. if this was the case then it would almost certainly help to mitigate some of the repercussions as it would be viewed more about rogue employee behaviour rather than a condoned culture. 3
SWLondon Saint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago From any kind of procedural perspective for an actual panel, surely the accuser here has to provide some concrete evidence more than a couple of witness statements and a photo of some bloke whom it sounds like they've identified from LinkedIn as connected with Saints since there's no interns listed on our site. I can see that could be considered enough to start a charge, but the burden of proof when push comes to shove is always on the accuser and not the defendant. This bollocks about forensic phone and bank trails is simply not going to happen unless Boro have cast iron facts from, say, a private investigator of their own. Which all the news so far points to them not having. If they had it, they'd already have leaked it for sure.

Willo of Whiteley Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Whoever would’ve thought the pundits on Talkshite are making the most sense. No coincidence all these articles are coming out the day before the home game. Theyre desperate 1

Deeney should remind himself what the rules are about kicking the shit of students before he starts taking the moral high ground about right and wrong Oh yes, I remember, the rules mean six months in prison, isn't that right Troy 6

No coincidence all these articles are coming out the day before the home game. Theyre desperate I genuinely thought we had peaked a few weeks back, and thought that at HT on Sat. But, I cannot help feeling that given the absolute insanity shown by the Boro journos and online contributors (along with their manager, but he has a point), will have added an additional spark for us. Had there been days leading into a night game up at Boro, it would have been chaos, but they have shot their bolt IMO. The welcome outside the ground will surely have added spice and edge, plus the atmosphere in the ground. 2
HarvSFC Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Starting to get the sense that Middlesbrough aren't confident in beating us... And if we do win tomorrow Kim Hellberg's going to be the sorest loser going. If we win tomorrow and fans start buying tickets for Wembley, it would be a logistical nightmare to refund us all who bought tickets. So, don't worry Middlesbrough, a bit of common sense, that isn't happening, nothing to worry about, let your players go on their holidays. At the end of the day, tomorrow's a fair game and the best team on the night will deservedly go through. 2

Although hilarious that they want a speedy resolution but also some sort of forensic deep dive! We can string that out for months. Just wait until the NCA find a £5 sub to SaintsWeb as they review the transaction history! I hope all our alibis stand up. Or if not stand up, at least don't lurk in bushes.

I'm actually starting to think it might disrupt their preparations more than ours If their players start believing the deranged narrative from inside their club that they genuinely might not be out even if they lose, then that can have all sorts of weird psychological knock-on effects All I want now is for us to beat them 1-0 with the winner scored by Finn Azaz, ideally from a clearly offside position Melts Edited 1 hour ago by Midfield_General 2 3

At the end of the day, tomorrow's a fair game and the best team on the night will deservedly go through. Exactly what I posted on the Ugly Inside earlier on. IF we beat Boro (and it’s no guarantee) then as soon as tickets for the final start getting sold it’s game over with regards being kicked out of the play offs. At that point the final would have to go ahead and if we win and get kicked out, then who takes our place? Boro who were “””robbed”””” in the semis or Millwall/Hull who shouldn’t have had to play us. 1
EssEffCee Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 20 minutes ago, benjii said: Also why are they grumbling about making plans for the final? You would do that anyway. Weird. They're on about doing that even if they lose tomorrow as they think we might be kicked out.

We played our usual team, in our usual formation...... no changes to counteract any tactic or formation of theirs. About the only potentially useful thing we might have learnt was that Hackney(?) wasn't fit. If he had been, maybe we'd have detailed someone to man mark him.... maybe On a first game back after injury, no player plays at their best. And Middlesborough had already released information on whether he was playing. We play the same lineups, and play the same way mostly, and Middlesborough just did the same thing too, their possession, their overloads in areas and their pressing, and then missing the goal. Both teams played the same The whole thing is daft, bad that someone spied for whatever reason, but daft. We could watch their training, they could watch ours. It doesn't change anything Regardless of the whole hoo haa they should knock us out properly rather than depending on a bye. Hoping for that is going to affect them more than us, and I don't think all this sabre rattling is helping them either. Let the (hopefully) independent commission make their decisions based on the evidence rather than trying to make demands
hypochondriac Posted 31 minutes ago Posted 31 minutes ago Imagine if we win tomorrow and Boro keep on training for ten days. Not only will we have robbed them of promotion but we'll rob them of a chunk of their summer holidays too! Mugs. 2 4
