Its utter mental. Honestly, the Boro PR team have played a blinder.

Everyone has forgotten how they finished the season and all focus is now on how much of a hero HellBerg is for surving through such a difficult time of his life.

Yeah, what other manager is treated as a hero for taking a club from 2nd to 5th place. If he'd done his job we wouldn't be having these conversations. It's all Hellberg's doing 🙂

Watch out, MLT will be sent out to tell you to stop again if you’re not careful.

Boro you deliberately lost to Saints.

Boro your keeper is blind, your keeper is blind he needs binoculars , your keeper is blind.

You lose when you want,  Boro you lose when you want.

Fucking ridiculous, just play it at that time, with those two clubs, or not. Don't let FANS book stuff and threaten them it may move / change. Cunts.

Suggests that the independent panel aren’t inclined to think that the time needed to sort things should they kick us out is something that will have to be dealt with.

People surely don’t still think we’re being thrown out or the date is changing do they? Absolutely no chance.

Unless Gibson has information he has not released, which I doubt as the press up there have leaked anything they good (including illegal information about Will’s spending) he has no chance. He will get a small pay off which is what he is after.

Decision 'On or before Tuesday'.... So could be sooner if they pull their fingers out

To be fair to the EFL they can't say much more than that. Otherwise they would be putting pressure onto an independent tribunal. The tribunal may have enough information to make a decision quickly or it may be more complicated than that. This is a pretty epic turnaround given the circumstances.

Why are they refering to it as "ongoing disciplinary proceedings"... Surely the independent panel has to determine if disciplinary action is necessary first...? Before that happens, we're not in the process of being disciplined, are we...? Slip of the tongue there from the EFL, or me reading too much into the wording?

Seems fairly standard. Basically nobody knows anything until the Independent Panel meet and obviously there are many different possible scenarios which nobody can predict.

Obviously not an ideal situation at all for both teams. Personally they should wait until after the play-off final and any "sporting" sanction can be applied to next season.

I do feel sympathy for Hull because none of this is their fault and it's just as disruptive to them, more so given the distance to London.

Looks like Saints are not in final then and EFL already decided outcome to put Boro in v Hull.

That's why no ticket details on Saints site and cant start the ticket sales Friday.

Time moved to allow Boro to travel to London.

Agreed. I suspect that the wording about “subject to change” is included to placate that red faced c*nt “Gibbo”.

He does. They are claiming he has an ex-Saints employee with a written statement and proof of mandated spying at Saints that goes beyond the isolated incident at present

It says the Hull City and Southampton will share ticket information soon….that tells me we will be playing in the final.

Pay particular attention to the Ticket sale ts&cs?  I guess that means we could buy a ticket but then be refunded!!!

T&Cs of any ticket, it always says the game is subject to change. I think that's what they mean.

Without the booking fee no doubt...like the time they moved the Ipswich game for Arsenal!! That'll be a nice little earner for nothing for them!

Any new information from them would extend the 14 day response period.

He has briefed the media that he does. Who knows what he knows or thinks he knows? If you think you have cast iron evidence and are going to get the outcome you want you’d shut up and let the investigators do their job. The fact that Boro have been briefing everyone who will listen tells you something about what they’ve got in terms of evidence…

You're right. They are just covering their arses in event of something unprecedented happening. The actual Ts and Cs will be pretty much identical to what they usually are

It would only be new to us, though. They've been saying for a few days that he has an ex-employee willing to go on the record and so he has presumably shared that with the EFL for the hearing already. It's just being kept out of the public domain (presumably to protect whoever this whistleblower is)

So you're saying that this is 50% worse than Leicester's 3 years worth of financial irregularities, given they only got a 6 point deduction for that...?

The statement tells you all you need to know. We are not being thrown out.

They state they want the final on the 23rd and the hearing might be heard as late as the 19th. There is therefore no chance we are kicked out, as the fallout from changing the opponent for Hull at such short notice would be far worse.

I would be pretty confident all 3 sides involved no for certain that the final is Saints Hull and the EFL are putting on this stunt to look serious.

As usual it’s the fans that suffer, logistical nightmare now to sort transport and tickets etc with such short notice.

If the hearing has not yet been heard then no one knows what the outcome will be. EFL must prepare for any outcome.

Calling bollocks on his being kicked out.

Not sure who the fuckwit is saying that Hull are being prepared to train midweek - that’s funny! 😂

Looking forward to buying my ticket this week 😇

Doesn’t everyone always read the T&C’s of buying tickets?

Don't the efl have to abide by the decision of the independent panel? So all this bollpcks about what the efl want and what has been decided is just bollocks. If this is being done properly then there is currently zero indication of what the independent panel will decide as they haven't had the hearing and looked at the evidence formally yet. Everything else is just noise.

Larin and Amir Hadžiahmetović are due to be released for international duty on 25th May.

There is very limited time for rescheduling

Whilst I agree it is against the EFL rules, and do think its all blown way out of proportion. You need to be incredibly naive to beleive the lone wolf theory.

I can see plenty of ways you can be plausible about it actually. For example, he's self employed, and the email to him says:

'Your next assignment is due by xxx, please analyze Middlesbrough's set pieces and tactics and send us the results. Here's the link to the site where all the video of their games is stored.'

Doesn't say anything about spying or using your own initiative, but obviously if you find something off your own back and put it in it's going to be good for you.

So game is planned to go ahead but subject to change - that change would be in the event we are kicked out and therefore appeal.

That appeal process would then surely take it to a point where playing the final is into world cup territory and not possible..

EFL saving face by essentially keeping everything on the table, whilst realistically knowing everything isn't on the table?

Or am I reading into something that isn't there

Indeed, from the EFL’s point of view, they’re selling tickets while one team is facing a charge with a possible outcome of being expelled, so their communication and contingency has to reflect that.

The independent panel’s timing of the hearing, however, strongly suggests that expulsion is an unlikely outcome from their point of view now.

We haven't been charged by the EFL in relation to other clubs, I would assume that would have to take place before the Independent Commission could even look at that, if Boro supposedly have this evidence. They're only looking at this one specific allegation. And if we did, we'd need additional time to respond, which of course would go way beyond the play off final.

If other teams have been spied on, why haven't they complained yet? Why have we not been charged by the EFL?

If Boro have evidence then it must be disclosed to SFC so that they can prepare a defence.
