I expect some players will be disappointed when they found out how weak our defence was appealing this spying accusation.

I hope the club compensates them otherwise we will be getting a few requests to leave the club.

We did not appeal the spying accusation, or the other 5 rule breaches, we appealed the sentence only (and I believe only the sentence for the two Boro related charges).

An incredibly important point still very much missed by a significant part of this forum who still think we are about to be proven innocent of everything because something something something both sides of the story etc

I must have missed those posts, who has said we'll be proven innocent?

Bollocks, no one has said that. The consistent argument is that the punishment is massively disproportionate to the offence. But you stay sitting on your high horse, I’m sure it’s really comfortable up there.

Apparently Nicola Sturgeon has come out as a massive Saints fan. She has declared innocence in the face of overwhelming evidence, and said she has no knowledge of any wrong doing, in spite of running our intern programme, data analysis and signing off on the accounts. 🙂

An incredibly important point that hasn’t been said or hinted by anyone on this forum.

Absolute fabrication.

Got to love the narrative some people try to make.

🚨 #SaintsFC CEO Phil Parsons' initial response to the EFL's charge on Friday 8 May said:

◉ The Club was concerned about the allegations because “the conduct described is not conduct which is part of the Club culture or conduct which it condones”

◉ A person associated with the Club was in the vicinity of the Middlesbrough training ground the previous day; but that the Junior Analyst Intern was “a very junior member of the analysis department” and he “was not instructed by any members of senior Club staff”.

◉ The Junior Analyst Intern “did not retain or transmit to Club staff any information about what he saw…. No footage was captured, transmitted, shared or analysed”. So, the Club had “no relevant documents or data”.

◉ “As soon as an analyst who was aware of the rules became aware of the incident he made a telephone call to ensure that the individual did not attend the team training session”.

◉ Unlike previous clubs who had been found guilty of observing an opponents’ training session, “senior executives and first team manager have not endorsed this”.

Off you fuck, you lying rat.

Sorry but I don't care how much he loves the club or how committed he is. Absolutely miles out of his depth and his position is untenable.

Can we have a poll?

Out of them all Parsons needs to go the most IMO

I really don’t understand how he is still employed.

I don’t give a shit about the rest of the situation any more but the way he handled it can never be forgotten.

Who told him this.

If Tonda lied to him, his position is untenable as well.

This bellend is getting a fat old salary for showing very little external leadership. He's fucked us with his naive and short-sighted fessing up to the Middlesbrough execs.

Damning evidence against Phil Parsons,  who lied to the EFL on page 11  shameful behaviour

If his lie was based on Tonda, and/or staff lying to him, surely they have to go as well.

The previous statement came from Parsons. Today’s statement is anonymous. However, today’s statement says that we got our response to the initial EFL’s charges wrong. Whose decision was this? What advice had we been given, and was this followed? This was a major judgement error.

The Operations Manager arranged for Salt’s ticket to the north east. Really? Did he question this? Surely, he mentioned it to his boss, or was his boss already aware? Who did know? Who does the OM report to?

As for Spors, he either knew, or he was so sidelined that you have to ask how could he be in a position to not know!

It strikes me that we either have a house of cards here, where the Club are closing ranks because otherwise we are not talking one potential ban but multiple bans across the Club’s management, and the delay in any FA announcement is that they are digging deeper. Alternatively, the authority came from above, and the Club decided to throw Tonda under the bus on the ‘l’m an innocent foreigner’ card, hoping that might wash and get a sympathetic response. As they’ve admitted, they got it wrong.

Our best, possible only, hope, is that the FA consider the punishment has already been enough, and therefore take no further action. after all, there’s nothing in the regulations, as I understand it, preventing spying in the EPL. However, I doubt that will be their response.

Oh leave poor Phil alone, he’s just had a lovely week off because he’s so tired from loving Saints so hard that he needed a rest, despite the club burning and the fans left without any answers.

Poor guy can’t catch a break, is it not enough that the paid club historian has already told us how much Phil loves the club and to not hate on him. Oh, most of us saw straight through that didn’t we….

Interview with Dragan on the BBC suggests we got the initial response wrong due to the short timescales to respond (12 hours). Taking the interview at face value, the spying stuff was only known about by the coaching / analyst teams, and only happened three times.

A good reading of the situation.

Yesterday's response and Dragan's statement are clearly giving notice to the FA that we will fight any attempt to impose bans on individuals. Yes we did wrong. We have been severely punished. That is enough. If there is any further punishment it will become messy. We will take you to court to contest the composition of the "independent" panel and the EFL's non adherence to their own timescales.

I read the appeal write up, and there's nothing new in there really. I was waiting for the 'text' releases to see the true horror, but I've come away thinking...is that really all this is? So it's not the crime of the century then?

To sum it all up - firstly, why the fuck is Parsons still employed by us? Assuming he was the person who submitted the initial response to the EFL, and then went to tap Steve Gibson on the shoulder, then he should be out on his ear - as that response floored us before it even started. The apology from our lawyers to that initial response made me squirm, if you're trying to smooth over relations at that point you've already lost.

Secondly, why was Middlesbrough's HoF part of this? Am I reading right that he submitted evidence directly, or was part of the initial hearing? The EFL 'invited' him to submit evidence makes me somewhat curious to, as didn't they reject Boro's plea to be heard directly on the hearing? The whole sporting advantage argument is nonsense from both sides though, if you 'spied', the entire point of it is to gain some form of advantage - so us using that as some sort of defence was pathetic.

So we're as we were really. We were stupid trying it, we cocked up on our initial response trying to defend it, Boro and their lawyers jumped on our naivety and kicked us whilst we were down. Boro absolutley made the most of it and ensured they almost got the biggest benefit from it all, but thankfully footballing gods evened that bit out. It does still smell fishy to me though.

Exactly. It smells fishy and we will fight it if necessay.
