strange to read a story that says a player has tuned down a move. When players turn down a move you tend to not hear about it.

If we called his agent and asked if he fancies the move and the answer was "thanks for the call but he doesn't want to leave Lazio" you'd imagine that was the end of it Perhaps it was along the lines of "come back to us in a few weeks once we know what Lazio's plans are for him" and then when we did the response was "Lazio are going to give him minutes so now is not the time for a move".

I guess maybe it could be quibbling over wages or playing time? Does seem strange to go back in after a refusal (if that’s what has happened)

If he does join us it will be the equivalent of a sympathy shag.

Sure, but you'd (the agent) just continue to talk not say 'no' and then tell the world about it.

Its the agent's job to liaise with clubs, keep negotiations going and options open, not embarrass them by putting the story in the press.

Also, if the first answer was a flat out no, why do we call back?

The first answer was more likely "call back in a few weeks once Lazio decide what they plan with him" - with the agent leaving the player options open. If we then call back a few weeks later and the answer is a "no, because he was on the bench in the cup game", then no problem.

Taking things out of context (again). Overlooking the words 'if', 'should' (as in should in my opinion not that they definitely will) and 'could' in that post. I didn't say they would be sold, some may go on loan.

Not taking it out of context actually. It was your opinion that was being mocked. Because it was daft. As proven by reality.

Is it going to be harder to persuade a reasonable striker to come here now that we appear to have a couple of decent ones on the books to compete with?
