Well he made a difference. Scored nearly got the winner a constant threat, also did well helping out at the back. Considering the hype around Jonathan David, Larin look head and shoulders a better player. We might have just found a gem here

I remember thinking Larin was a fucking donkey when he signed.

Crap 1st half of a season, Sports Republic signing, followed Damion Downs....

He is a proper striker, certainly for the Championship.

Quite some pace in that Canada side. Looked good going forward until it came to actually showing some final third composure and sticking the ball in the net. Looked poor defending set pieces as well.

Probably keep him on the bench again and use him as an impact player.

That goal he scored tonight was a Rickie Lambert (England)  moment in my household.

Oi Jesse, you've got a proven goal scorer...don't leave him sat on the bench until the match is nearly over, give him time to win you the game.

weird decision not to play larin, then only give him 15 minutes off the bench.

Not really. Jonathan David has been playing in serie A and Europe for Juventus, he’s got a goal a goal every other game for Canada. Larins been on loan in the championship after struggling in Spain and Holland. Not really  weird decision unless you’re a saints fan. However I refer to my post above about his impact in this game

I do not think that was a red card (had it been onside).

I don’t think it should be but equally I can see rooney’s point when in the modern game outfield players can get sent off for winning the ball but be done for excessive force/endangering opponent.

Anyone bar me watching at this ungodly hour? USA actually look decent so far but against a poor Paraguay who just scored an own goal. Shame Damion Downs didn't get picked - a goal or two in this tournament and he may have been more sought after.

"A goal or two" Hahahaha that's funny.

USA look annoyingly good. Their cocky fans have been doing my head in during the build up to the tournament. Even with average players, Poch can get a good unit going.

Atmosphere is fucking shocking though.

Balogun goal disallowed...

But now he scores. Arsenal could do with someone like him...

And again. Balogun > Downs

Cracking goal from Larin. Sure, the shot got a slight deflection, but the way he held players off, turned and got a strong shot off was top drawer.

Only a last minute lunge from a defender denied him a winner.

He is full of confidence and on fire. Thank god he signed a contract before the rest of the world saw how good he is at the moment.
