We need another striker because old man Larin is creaking. Some good suggestions already I won't repeat, but how much would Kone from QPR cost - he is a young Larin. Vipotnik isn't getting much starting time and could offer us something as well. I suspect it will be someone from Germany though that we have never heard of or considered. I don't know enough about the German leagues to name anyone who could be suitable. I thought we should have gone for Kone when he was at Wycombe. He went to QPR for an undisclosed fee but Wycombe were asking for £5 million. Guess we would be looking at £8 million now, but can't see them selling as they will be looking at the playoffs. 1
Toadhall Saint Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I would like to think Spors would be looking at Max Moerstedt from Hoffenhiem. Not seen him play but his figures look quite good and isn’t going to break the bank.

Isn't getting a lot of minutes, but plays most games. Less realistic: Conrad Harder. Strong striker at Strasbourg. He is getting more minutes as the season goes on. Chelsea seems to be sniffing around. I thought Robbie Ure played for O.H. Vienna? 5

Fabrice29 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago The striker to go for in the Championship is Makama at Norwich, especially if you want someone to be able to grow into the PL too. But he’ll cost a shit load no doubt. Gudjohson - Strikers who score under Mowbray are fascinating. I can never work out if good or not. We’ve had a mix ourselves. I like Heggabe at WBA but unlikely given their own promotion bid. Carlton Morris has been name checked as one of the best in this division by Eckert before btw… 2

hypochondriac Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I see Kevin Phillips reckons we should sign Lukas Nmecha. Any good?
disconnect Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago It would've been good to see how Mbick from Charlton was getting on but he's missed matches 3 times this season with a knee injury (bit of a red flag) and not played much. We were linked with signing him for £5mil out of the blue around the deadline but didn't quite get it done. More one for the future though. Charlton's best player is probably Tyreese Campbell on the wing, always looked pretty handy, but we're currently well stocked there.

He's not a regular for Leeds but I think is well liked there and has been very good in the past (including caps for Germany). Could be a similar signing to Larin and would be an excellent addition I reckon. Expect any fee wouldn't be massive as out of contract at the end of the season, but would command a high salary. I imagine any move would be a subsidised loan and then hoping to sign on a free should we get promoted. 1

KingInDaSouf Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago (edited) Vipotnik is out of form but might be available and showed last season he can score at this level. I think Richard Kone and Gudjohnsson as mentioned above would be good shouts too if available but otherwise I don't think we'll be looking at the championship for a striker. Premier league loan or someone from Germany probably. On another note, Moylan at Cardiff looks a player. Only move in the summer but he'd be a great option from the left or through the middle in rotation with Leo and Azaz. Edited 19 hours ago by KingInDaSouf Formatting

Kenilworthy1959 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Patrick Agyemang at Derby could be a realistic target
Willo of Whiteley Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Surely we want to go after players that could potentially make the step up to the Premier League as and when that comes around.

Of the players mentioned, and from what I’ve read he sounds an ideal Larin Mk II but about four years younger. But I also read that Leeds would only release him if they sign an alternative, so it might depend if we are prepared to wait how the window pans out. Jan 31st for the signing perhaps.

Lighthouse Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I think some people are overestimating the amount of money we are willing and/or able to spend in January. Part of the reason we went for Mubama is that he’s low cost and therefore low risk, any replacement is very likely to be the same, rather than a £10m+ signing.
saintant Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago 25 minutes ago, Badger said: Be surprised if Blackburn didn’t want £15m plus add ons in January. No way. They paid 2.2m Euros for him in August 2025 so his value hasn't gone up that much in just over a year. I get that they can set whatever price they like but they'll have to be realistic if he is interested in a move in January.

You think a 6’2", 24 year old striker with eight league goals in eleven games and a long contract remaining ‘won’t be much more’ than €2.2m?

saintant Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago It's likely that Boro will be in the market for a striker having been as poor as they were last night without Lankshear. They'll be fishing in the same ponds as us so we might need to play it smart.

Either way I think it's more likely to be another Premier League loan. Nmecha is certainly an interesting shout.

Love a transfer window 🙄 As is they'd sell him in January. 2
HKsaint Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I reckon TOT will trigger a buy-back clause if there is such a clause.
SNSUN Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Spend the readies and get Karim Konate from Salzburg. Previously linked with Forest, he's 22, a powerful striker, he's had a major injury issue in the last couple of years but he's fit again now and back to scoring goals. Excellent record really.
Bakovnetski Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I was really impressed with this lad when we played Lincoln. Andrei Coubis. Played as right back that day but is a centre back. Came through the AC Milan academy and plays for Romania. https://www.transfermarkt.com/andrei-coubis/profil/spieler/692349 Certainly would be a good partner for Schlotterbeck and cover for Bree.

From videos looks to me to have a bit of the Egil Ostenstadt about him, and could learn further from Larin. Contract at Blackburn is up in August 2028, so there will likely be a realistic fee required. Be a good one to happen.

But we have no idea what his contract contains re releasing him, making him aware of offers etc. It may be that the trade off for signing the extended contract is letting him speak to clubs who offer £7or £8m. Just can’t predict it. And their owners might just look at cashing in. Think we know how they’re viewed by their fanbase
Saint Garrett Posted 5 minutes ago Posted 5 minutes ago (edited) Think it will be mainly loan market in Jan. Don't think we want to sign another "champ" standard striker to then get Archer back in the summer. Unless we can find a top ST who might be able to make the step up in the prem. I'd be sending Mubama back, offers bugger all. Nmecha has been linked. Evan Ferguson? Edited 3 minutes ago by Saint Garrett
