StuRomseySaint Posted 18 February, 2009 Share Posted 18 February, 2009 Alex Pearce's goal against Preston and his dogged determination were assets to Jan Portability's side, but Wotte has even more faith in the abilities of his current centre-back pair. Shouldn't it be Jan Portanotalotofability ? Still, funny typo from the OS

Mole Posted 18 February, 2009 Share Posted 18 February, 2009 I got this far: Saints celebrated Bonfire Night a few days early last November with a fabulous comeback against Preston North End... This weeked Mark Wotte intends on swapping sparklers for heavy artillery as his side continue their battle for championship survival.

mattbrennan Posted 18 February, 2009 Share Posted 18 February, 2009 I read it as 'poor ability' The only poor ability is that article. I give you this classic line. "JP Saki's is proving that now. He's winning lots of balls in the air, he has speed. He's not an English player, but he can do the job." I guess they mean Siejs?
Fowllyd Posted 18 February, 2009 Share Posted 18 February, 2009 I liked these bits: Alex Pearce's goal against Preston and his dogged determination were assets to Jan Portability's side, but Wotte has even more faith in the abilities of his current centre-back pair. and "If I look back though, I think it would have been better to have brought one big experienced central defender instead of two youngsters, who could have played together with Chris Perry. "JP Saki's is proving that now." Looks like somebody's been paying too much attention to their spell checker...

Fowllyd Posted 18 February, 2009 Share Posted 18 February, 2009 Beyond the amusing misspellings, there's a far more serious point here: The Championship is a very physical league and if you are not ready to compete then you can be in trouble. This was the big lesson of the first three months when we got beaten several times from set-pieces, but with Jack Cork and Alex Pearce we brought in some good young British defenders to combat that. The big lesson of the first three months?!?!?! Three f*cking months!!! Well done to Mark and Jan for spotting that in the end though...

Legod Third Coming Posted 18 February, 2009 Share Posted 18 February, 2009 Shut the **** up and deliver some points. You may friend are sooo right! I could sit on my arse all day and bang on and on and on and on about how much I love the missus and how much I appreciate what she does for me and the family... But I find occassionally offering to cook, regularly loading and unloading the dishwasher, doing my share of household jobs and the odd bunch of unexpected flowers do the job for me. Perhaps Wotte could look up that old Dutch war guidance: "Actionsh shpeak louder than wordsh..."

LOL oh how right you are. Although the words he speaks are grating on more than the extreme now as results have become more important than the odd "everything is OK, honest" interview. Not sure what he could say in this situation though. He says nothing and there would be a public Lowe bashing at how the OS is not up to date and its a conspiricy and Wotte is not comunicating with the fans and so on. He says something and makes a right pigs ear of it and comes accross as a buffoon who is learning lessons that we knew the answers to when he first walked in the door. And he is paid to manage the club ffs! still think he deserves a few more games to get it right before we turn against him. (like us saints fans will ever give anyone that RL put in time) Unfortunatly as a club we dont have that time to give so its results or oot. What if he goes on a 15 match winning spree then gets us right up the table, the crowds come back and next year we are able to strengthen and do better? It will still be Lowe that did all this and I can't sit and watch that, yeah? I don't want good words coming from anyone at this club until Lowe goes. It's the only way, yeah? He should come out and firstly apologise for his place of birth, yeah? I can't call him a young English manager if he is bloody Dutch, yeah? Once he has done that he should tell us he hasn't got a clue, yeah? I want him to really bang the nails in the coffin and tell us we are doomed so I can be right all along, yeah? Who is with me? saint1977 Posted 18 February, 2009 Share Posted 18 February, 2009 Going to war with this squad - not exactly any players in our squad that are going to get stuck in is there? Wotton probably would if he was quick enough to catch anybody! Definately no MLT either. To be fair, the bloke is out of options and he's trying to appeal to the supporters, trouble is, the board scarpered to the emergency bunker some time ago where Askham is counting his loot again. egreog Posted 18 February, 2009 Share Posted 18 February, 2009 Saints are rarely fit for a minor skirmish!!..how they suddenly become warriors is an interesting concept!!
