Updated Player Profiles on O.S

Squad numbers are on there as well, I assume those on there are to remain untouched?

The only thing that has changed is some players have a new photo (Ryan Dickson was already added when he signed). Squad numbers will be updated in late July. They won't stay as they were last season.

Personally I'd like to see players stick with numbers while they are with us and not chop and change, I like to associate a player with a number like Pahars wearing 17 would have annoyed me if he changed it just because something else became available.

When it comes down to the numbers I'd like to see:

3. Dickson

4. Hammond

5. Fonte

8. Morgan

9. Barnard (or Beattie in a dream world)

10. Connolly

11. Puncheon

12. Antonio

13. Bart

14. Danns

Being a tad optimistic there with a few transfers. :D

Edit: Flicking through, Morgan and Mills don't have pictures on there. Hope that's nothing more than an admin problem.

Yeah 28th August I think I read a while ago... gonna be sad to see him leave.

Oh, 29th. Didn't see the post above!

Perhaps he won't be leaving though as the option might be his not the clubs. The fact they have bothered to photograph him in the new kit suggests he is here for another year otherwise why bother?

Not all the players were around when these pictures were taken, a few players were away on holiday.

Worry not, there is nothing sinister behind people like Harding and Schneiderlin not having a new profile picture up.

The rest of the team snaps will be done when the full squad photo is taken, with hopefully a few new additions. ;)

Interesting that Dickson is listed as a midfielder and has not been given a number.

Was this AP's thinking when signing him then? Leave Harding as the 1st choice left back and two natural left footers marauding down that side. If so then suggests a change for Lallana next season, maybe a central AMF with Punch on the right? :poundit:

Certainly gives us options.

I really hope that we correct the 1 glaring error in our squad numbers, that being our number 10 shirt being allocated to the pack of SH*T that is Paul Wotton! I hope our number 10 next year will be a top quality striker that we have signed in the summer!

I'm not sure about having our reserve keeper as number 13 though! Maybe I'm just being superstitious!

There's a League rule that means allocated numbers have to be consecutive, so we HAVE to fill up the gaps.

I seriously doubt Wotton will release the number 10 shirt. Nice as it would be to have 1-11 on the pitch at some point, squad numbers are a phenomenon of the 1990s, and even shirt numbers only became compulsory in the FL in 1939 - we should play without numbers altogether next season :D.

I'm still not sure what the deal is with Poolis, footballers usually sign contracts which terminate on July 1, no matter when they actually sign - so his "2 year deal" would have expired on July 1. I suspect the option for a 3rd year might have been his and taken up before he kicked a ball - because let's face it he won't have got one after he did.

What is sinister though, is that Pulis WAS around to have his Mug Shot taken

Exactly what IS the hold that his dad has over Lowe ??

I would have thought Bernard would have requested it.
Bearing in mind he left us 5 years ago, and was a shower of shyte, I don't think he has any claim to the shirt.

I would give it to Barnard. :-)

Even if he is registered to another club, I think we should still give it to him, or retire the shirt in homage to the memory he left in all our hearts during that wonderful season.

That can't be right many teams don't use the number 13 as it can be considered unlucky and I am sure I remember that bloke at Palace (Can't remember who though) played in 55 as he wanted to be number 10 but it was already taken (Didn't he play with a small + sign between the 5's?) I am sure Palace never had 54 other people registered..although it would explain why they went bust!

That cannot be right. To name one example, we started the season with no #14 until Hammond signed after about 3 games.

Strange that Morgan doesn't have a picture yet?

Why have you just picked out Morgan for not having a photo?

Quite a few players don't have a new profile picture on the site yet. Including both Puncheon and Hammond. Both of whom were at the photo shoot and advertising campaign for the new kit.
