Andoverian Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 I was delighted to see the standing ovation our fans gave Brett Ormerod when he was substituted towards the end. He gave Saints great service and is a real tryer. Well done everyone.

Kingsland Red Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 Ormerod was a workhorse with us but I couldn't understand the booing of the Mule. However I always felt comfortable today with the pair of them up front, barn doors and banjos etc.
PokingFun Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 To be honest even booing Euell was cringeworthy. I cannot recall him doing anything to warrant any abuse other than being in a ****ty set up which was not his own doing.
Lighthouse Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 To be honest even booing Euell was cringeworthy. I cannot recall him doing anything to warrant any abuse other than being in a ****ty set up which was not his own doing. I didn't boo him but I can understand why people did. He was crap here, never really put in a decent effort and it was very much a case of all quite on the goalscoring front. 5 goals in 2 years, despite being almost ever-present in a forward or attacking midfield possition. You can say he was a victim of the set-up, and that is true in a sense, but he was as much a part of the problem as he was a victim.

He was crap here, never really put in a decent effort and it was very much a case of all quite on the goalscoring front. to say he didn't put in a decent effort is wrong IMO. He gave everything in games, but fell short at times in terms of finishing and a little quality. Being crap and not trying are two different things. Personally I'm happy to see him doing well at Blackpool, the same for Brettie.

rocknrollman no2 Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 I stood up (was standing anyway),and clapped Ormerod off,as did everyone around me. He deserved it for what he did for Saints.
SAFE_SAINT Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 Good bloke, good service, first class effort- if we had 16 B.O we would not have been relegated!
swannymere Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 never really put in a decent effort I must have been watching a different player, all the time he was with Saints he gave it 100% even if his talent wasn't quite all there.
musesaint Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 Well everyone around me was giving him a standing ovation when he went off ...and thoroughly deserved....great player who always gave 100% in a Saints shirt
Appy Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 There really are some clueless prats in the Northam when it comes to booing ex-players. Brett was a very good servant for us and that header at Villa Park was one of our greatest ever moments.
Smirking_Saint Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 IMO i prefered B.O to B.T But there we go.

Wurzel Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 Was listening on Radio 5. The commentary team were shocked - in a pleasant way - at the "standing ovation from all 4 sides of the ground" as BO went off. Well deserved IMO.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 It's a shame Holloway is being such a **** on the SSN website. I normally like the bloke...I can't attach a link as on Tapatalk but feel free to have a look.
John Boy Saint Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 I thought Brett looked slightly embarrassed at the standing ovation, the bloke is an honest footballer who worked chuffing hard for us, in fact he has worked bloody hard throughout his career. The standing ovation showed how much the majority appreciated his time with us, and gave us the opportunity to let him know it.
krissyboy31 Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 All reports of booing were at Euell. Around us, we weren't booing Euell but shouting "M.U.L.E." every time he got the ball.

Cestrian Saint Posted 8 January, 2011 Share Posted 8 January, 2011 Ormorod is a legend. He did an amazing job for Saints and a hell of a lot of work for Beattie, who would have never scored nearly as many goals as he did thanks to Brett's service! saints-cris Posted 9 January, 2011 Share Posted 9 January, 2011 Would hope there was no boo'ing of Ormergod.. was brilliant for us and always gave everything he had for us. Him and Beattie were great. Almost scored in the 2003 final too
The Godfather Posted 9 January, 2011 Share Posted 9 January, 2011 I didn't boo Euell the mule but thankfully he played his usual **** game. Ormerod got the ovation he deserved from the the crowd, throughout the time he was on the pitch.
