Franchise v Posh

This must be the first time I've ever wanted MK Dons to win, always possible, really wasn't expecting Swindon to hold Huddersfield today.

Huddersfield aren't that good imo. They have scraped quite a few wins by a single goal and they let slip a two goal lead against 10 man Orient the other week. I can see them dropping more points and don't see them as being much of a threat. Of course we've got to do the business but I think 2nd place is between us and Peterborough.

I just wasn't expecting Swindon to get anything there, they've been terrible since the start of 2011.

Take a brave man to bet against Posh right now...but...this is the 'local derby' in the area this season so will have a bit of an extra edge for both sides.

MK Dons win and it really sets it up nicely for us on Tuesday knowing if we go to the Valley and win we go second.

The promotion run-in back in 1978 was fantastic, taking 10k+ on the road for the last few aways and the buzz building each game. And while we won't get the opportunity to take so many this time round our remaining trips now are gonna be special.

Just want to see that smug **nt Ferguson Jr miserable... what is it about that gene line that makes it so easy to hate them?

He really is an arrogant pr1ck, the only scenario i would want in the playoffs would be chaplow scoring a winner against them and celebrating right in his face.

That day where we beat Luton Town, I will remember for ever.

Ted McDougal & David Peach scored. Fantastic memory.

“The rivalry has evolved since we moved to MK. Both clubs have had similar fates over the last few years so that has added to it.

“It’s a local rivalry, but in playing terms we have been close in the league, so it will be great to beat them.

“And of course we know the fans love to beat Peterborough more than anyone else.”

Dons manager Karl Robinson is usually the man found fanning the flames ahead of matches against Posh, but he’s adopted a more low key approach this time around.

Robinson said: “I thought we played well at Peterborough earlier in the season and were unlucky to lose, but they were a different team then.

“But so are we. We have improved a lot since so we’re hopeful we can get a result tonight.

“The rivalry is very healthy, it’s brilliant - I love it.

“I’ve been brought up on derbies, and I love them. “There is so much passion from the fans on both sides.”

MK Dons mean nothing to Peterborough fans as far as i'm aware (they didn't exist when I used to go to the odd game). Peterboroughs derby game is Cambridge Utd, with Northampton Town after that.

That said this could fire up Franchise as the non club try to get an identity.

I don't think passion is something that i would associate with MK Dons fans.

How big does that game away at Peterborogh seem now! We could regret throwing away 2 goal lead x2 in that game come the end of the season!

They could say similar themselves. Both teams led. That game really was a rollercoaster.

I can't see how anyone would want a draw over a Dons win. Posh are a waaaaaay bigger threat to second place than Dons are. Posh are 4 points ahead with a game in hand, much better GD and are playing superbly.

I hope Dons trash them and it has a similar effect to Bompey's defeat at Exeter.

Wow, I really was drunk that day. Fair enough!

ditto, and even when sober it's difficult to see much of a game from a terrace behind the goal at London Road. The old Glebe Rd terrace used to give a cracking view though (where the new family stand is).

Anyone know what the attendance is likely to be? I want to go but don't want to make the journey if it's a full house.

Along with passion, i don't think MK Dons know what a sell out is, apart from when they came to SMS in the JPT.

They proved what a mickey mouse joke of a club they are. 1-0 down from the first leg, trip to wembley at stake, they claimed just under 300 of the 32,000 who attended. Vermin shítpit of a club.

Edit: I really should add that I want MK Franchise Plastic Shítholes to win tonight. As well as CMS, Boyd, Joe Lewis and that c*nty midfielder to all get straight reds and a 3 match ban.

It won't happen though, and P'boro will win. Again.

Posh players wearing black arm bands in respect of a fan who drowned in the Nene + a minutes silence. Did Saints even bother for Dean Richards?

With all due respect to him, and without knowing the background, armbands and a minute silence for a fan sounds a bit OTT to me
