Colinjb Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 And just how many of those are actually resourceful 'home' supporters? They struggle to get more then that for home attendances. Something doesn't add up.

supersonic Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 1,500 fans.....sh1t! How will we cope!? Will we have to move our fans to accommodate!? How will our players cope with the added pressure of such a massive "army" of away fans!? What will the home crowd think when their songs and chants get drowned out by the masses of away fans!? it's not even half of the allocation. Thank god we will never be playing them again

Thank god we will never be playing them again haha i know what you're saying.... but this is about 60% of their home support, that's like us taking 10k away to Birmingham for an away game which is probably why they are so excited, i hope they do sell their remaining tickets and the game is a complete sell out would be great to hit 32k landmark again

Thank god we will never be playing them again Let's not be too critical. 1500 is 37% of their average home attendance, equivalent to Saints taking over 8000. A pretty good turnout I'd say. Their average home support this year is 3,845, but that is probably an average of 3000 home fans at each game, that gives you an indication of how small their support really is. when is the last time Walsall would have played in front of a 32k crowd? Saint_lambden Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 They haven't even sold the 1,700 tickets, 100 are being sent back to us on their coach tomorrow apparently. I know they aren't a massive club but not selling their allocation for such a huge game for them is beyond belief.
Matthew Le God Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 (edited) They haven't even sold the 1,700 tickets, 100 are being sent back to us on their coach tomorrow apparently. I know they aren't a massive club but not selling their allocation for such a huge game for them is beyond belief. Their average attendance is 3,800, so selling 1,700 for them is like Saints selling roughly 11,000 tickets for an away game. I think 1,600 tickets is quite good really and is over 3 times their highest away following up until this point. I think the 1700 Walsall fans will find it easier to get to Southampton than 11,000 Saints fans would find it getting to Walsall, tbf.

Ziggy Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 Last year on the way home we followed one of their coaches and we were given the finger all the way up to the motorway. Saint Fan CaM Posted 7 May, 2011 Share Posted 7 May, 2011 I know of a different two Saints in there as well Brave people - hope you're not wearing colours! If we win and effectively send them down, it could get ugly for any Saints fans celebrating in the away section.

I would imagine, with about 10 mins to go, they'll casually get up, walk out and wander round to the open gates in the Northam/Kingsland and come and join their fellow Saints fans in celebration...mugs not to. RedWillie Posted 7 May, 2011 Share Posted 7 May, 2011 yes we have blocks 43 and 44 I believe with minimal segregation potentially making it a whopping 32 k gate. I'm off to the pub then the ground.
