If you were writing a banner for pompey, what would you put on it?

You'll have to add in the correct figures, but you get my drift:

' SFC being bought by a wealthy benefactor - £30M. Buying the most prolific striker in the land - £1.5M. Promotion to the Premiership - £40M. Portsmouth going into Liquidation - PRICELESS.'

You lot on here don't half like to get carried away at times!

I would question why grown men wish to part-take in kids club style arts & crafts, but if they will.

Top 3 so far IMO:

3: So long and thanks for all the fish (not sure they would really get the hint, they're not bright!).

2: Your sons will wear our shirts! (Maybe even Your kids will be REd & White!)

1: Turkish's suggestion: The play James' Lyrics on our crest. (It's clever, good song and dig in a bit more I think!)

I really like the fish ones they are funny, original and topical. I'm sure they'd be terrified of seeing SMS packed to the rafters with signs all round saying "goodbye and thanks for the fish" alongside middle aged men dressed up as ghost busters. What with this and us all signing "we can smell you over here" what with Dave "wotsit" Kitson no doubt already sh*tting it at being singled out for abuse I'd be surprised if they make it out of the tunnel. You'll be able to feel the pure hated cascading off the terraces and it'll cement the south coast derby as one of the most volatile in world football.

It'll be right up there with having "sha la la la la la la la la" sung at us for an hour or so. Which seemed fairly effective at the time.

This would sound good sung to Liverpool's You'll Never Walk Alone IMO.

Think the Douglas Adams quote would make the best banner though.

No, it doesn't scan. I go for "ding dong, ding dong, wheres your club gone" but I think someone got that before. God help me, please don't tell me it was alpine or dell days......

This thread is about banners, not songs anyway, there are already two other threads about songs floating around - one for tunes on the tannoy before kick off, the other for actual songs to sing.
