Not really sure what type of team we are going forward, hard to work out what we are trying to do to score, if that makes sense. This isn't 4-2-3-1 its 4-4-1-1 and not enough support to Jay.
Yeah can't work out what we're trying to do at all. JWP wide right? Thought we've been the better team though. Guly been good. Ref blown for every time the Besiktas players go to ground, typical european football really. Bit of a scrappy game. Don't think Schneiderlin has been involved much?

Try right-clicking on the image and toggle through the "stretching options". Should be on the menu with something like Stretching is Uniform or Stretching is None.

Cheers mate but no joy, maybe it's a Mac thing. I can only get a thumbnail or a bit bigger.

Was just coming on here to say similar.

Looks incredibly dis-jointed. Don't know if it's because we've got square pegs in round holes e.g. Cork at RB but it just doesn't seem right.

Still say we played our best football of last season under Adkins in the 4-5-1 right at the start - despite results.

Best going forward. Some of the worst in decades in defence.

Defence was poor because we played some top teams (City, Utd, Arsenal) and we were weak in CM (MS, JWP & SD/AL)

Change that now to some more favourable fixtures to get to grips with it and with a stronger CM area (MS, VW, JC,) we would be much stronger defensively.

Potentially switch Lambert with Damiao (if it happens) and we begin to look an extremely solid, balanced side.

Defence was poor because it was set up poorly.

Watching Lallana and Ramirez play wide away to Everton was hilarious

No wonder we conceded so many. It was almost amerturish at times

We weren;t that good at the start of last season unless your mind is being clouded by the villa result- we were horrible defensively and relied on setpieces for a lot of our goals.

4 points from 30 tells you that we were just garbage really

Hopefully for the final two games we will pick what looks like our best side, will be a better indication.

Indeed

I remember going to Yeovil away for a friendly in the build up to the NPC season. We drew 2-2 and many were worried and/or disgusted with the result and performance

We stormed the start of that season

I guess you forget about the goals v City, both came from quick counter attacks with men flowing forward. Against Utd, we worked the ball forward, got it wide and got 2 great crosses in for 2 goals.

We played some good attacking football, we were just stupidly naive and poor defensively. Plus some of the subs NA made didn't help the cause at all but we wont go there,

Its what Adkins had to choose from. You really think if Pochettino had been managing Fonte and Hooiveld at CB and KD in goal against Man City, Man U etc would have been any different?
