Katarina Liebherr Appreciation Thread

Think we owe it to Katarina to say how much the present success of the club is down to her. I loved the way she gently removed the dictator, accepted the departure of the manager and top players but kept her best cards up her sleeve namely Ralph and Ronald. She really is our Joan of Ark so let's make sure she is in no doubt about our loyalty and respect. Do I hear a song coming on?

Presume you mean "Joan of Arc"? (if your intention was to compare her to an historical figure, burned at the stake).

Or was Noah's wife called Joan? (and you think she is good at saving animals in bad weather conditions?)

While I am happy to be appreciative of Katharina Liebherr, I am not sure comparing her to a random historical woman of no particular relevance is the way to go. But if that is the plan I suggest Florence Nightingale or Susan B. Anthony.

Very well said. Particularly so as she's in an industry dominated by men. It takes a pretty strong person to make the kind of dramatic change she made, and when the club was going through a period of success. And her determination to change us from having a nasty edge, to a warm and now welcoming club, also goes against the grain in this industry. I think she's absolutely phenomenal and a complete inspiration. Thank you Katarina.

Kudos, OP, for opening this thread. It is indeed incredibly lucky to have Katrina as owner. It's pretty much a perfect situation. She's let huge resources stay in the club... invested in a long-term strategy... kept her ego out of it... and stayed calm. A beautiful way to carry her father's legacy.

Cheers Katharina - I hope the stuff I keep hearing from various places about us always being a selling club is garbage, and we can keep the core of the squad this time and build on it, without having to rebuild all the time.

Sustainable growth is great, but I hope we can step up the investment in line with the additional prize money if we make CL group stages. Actually, there's a dilemma around that - coming 4th (which would be nice) would give us a qualifier and no guarantee of CL dosh, but we'd need to consider how we'd cope if we DID make the CL groups and leaving it until after the qualifiers to get players in would be pushing it a bit.

Still, cross that bridge when we come to it... :D

The biggest outrage known in the history of football.

I'd quite like to know how that would have panned out to be fair.

AL: "What's going on guys? I hear everyone wants to leave"

LR: "Aye, it seems that way Ads. As captain, you are going to help us convince them stay, right?"

AL: "Me?! Nah, I want to play Champions League."

LR: "So why are you concerned?"

AL: "I want to leave, but I still want my paychecks"

AL: "Guys"

AL: "WHY WON"T YOU RESPOND TO ME?!?!"

I also heard Calum Chambers was furious he wasn't called when he was in Marbella to be told the new kit was being released, it's why he went. I'll say more when i've got time.

Susan B Anthony is called Emmeline Pankhurst in the UK. Hope that helps. ;)

I told a cracking gag about Joan of Arc at a party in Fontainebleu full of French people. Charlie Hedbo got a better reception. How was I supposed to know she was burnt by the English?

Much as it turned out to so crass, you're not going to tell us what a cracking gag it was without telling us it, are you?

This is absolutely spot on! We are so lucky to have Katharina Liebherr as our owner.

I think we're quite lucky.

Just down the road, they got children of money launderers, gun-traffickers, dodgy investment fund representatives and fake sheiks.

Other clubs had American know-alls, stingy Britons, big-spending reluctant Arabs and Russian mob-dodging oligarchs on an ego trip.

In the time where anything went, we were given an industrialist family, with a culture of moderation, that seems to care about making SFC a complete project.

That my friends, in these times of short-term franticness and football spending foolishness, is a blessing.

It's not Kat we should be thanking. It's St George and The Professor whose selfless posting forced the board to stop selling players and thus saved the club. They are right up there with Markus in the pantheon of Saints saviours. FACT.

Fact...Morgan is still here due to fan pressure.....Fan pressure that made them consider the potential backlash if Morgan were to go....You, on the other hand were doing you do best....Cowering in your bedroom while others were getting it done.

There we have it. Proof that St George saved Saints. His posting on Saintsweb kept Morgan. Legend.

What did you "get done" again?

One of the greatest owners in English football, look at all of them (owners in english football), shes got to be up there. Little involvement letting/employing people who know how to run a club, make decisions (current board and Cortese).

Thankyou KL!
