Not so much the general idea of it to increase enthusiasm for reading but the fact that it's basically now just a "dress up as whatever you want day" because some kids are a bit too thick to have ever read a book. There were a good proportion of boys at my daughter's school in football kits this morning, and various others on pajamas for some reason.
