Has Lowe walked and Wilde taken over?

I doubt Lowe has walked or been pushed Dave.

Crouch's reason for being there is not known to me or who invited him.

Wilde is Chairman of the Football Club so I would expect the statement to come from him.

As to JP's sudden resignation, who knows? Plenty of speculation from both sides but no evidence yet.

I doubt it also. I wonder was there an exchange of views. Up to now all the interviews/announcements on football have come from Lowe. Hardly needs a press conference Monday, what's to announce?

Maybe Crouch made an offer Lowe & Wilde couldn't refuse :smt102, we'll see Monday I suppose........Enter No 2

LOL.

Crouch was at the stadium to watch a football match.

Besides, not even Lowe is mental enough to leave Wilde in charge.

Crouch was in the board meeting.....and yes i know he's not on the board :D

Not that i think for one minute lowe has left, but crouch wasnt there to watch a match

Yes but why announce Wotte?

I don't know, but I really can't see that that three supposed intelligent men could come to some agreement, and that agreement would be to get rid of JP and to put Wotte in charge.

I can't see Crouch agreeing to that, and I wouldn't blame him........there's something else going on, there must be.

Lowe doesn't want to be seen as firing another manager so he got Wilde to do it. This is the only reason Wilde has spoken IMO. If Lowe speaks up about JP leaving then it's obvious (as if it isn't anyway) that Wilde does sweet f.all and Lowe does everything.

Perhaps you should read Weston Saint's post as above.

So I guess you would also expect the FC Chairman to have had the meeting with JP and the players last week when Lowe gave JP his backing...

Not quite so black and white is it? I thought Wilde had vapourised, he has been absent so long, all of a sudden he is back when the coach resigns.

Leon would never have wotte! he would have an English manager in like Pearson in charge!

Perhaps Crouch didn't want the current board to make any commitments or bring any new faces in? Perhaps, pretending there is even a slim chance of this being true, he wanted that decision to be made by whoever is coming in?

If Crouch really is orchestrating change then I'd imagine he would not want any important decisions being made, preferring to make them himself?

Wotte was already here, isn't totally inexperienced, knows the good, bad and ugly about the players we have and how SMS operates. So for the time being, until Crouch can bring his own man in, it's a no-cost, low-risk option.

After the Doncaster game following rumours of Wilde leaving early, I suggested that perhaps he had had enough and left in disgust and was ready to confront Low about Poortvliet. This is what has come to pass. After the Tuesday meeting Lowe more or less said that Poortvliet's job was not an issue 'TODAY' (i.e., at the Tuesday meeting). I took that to mean that Wilde HAD made it an issue of HIS support for Lowe. Well, well, so by Friday Poortvliet was out.

It was in fact easily predictable from the facts to hand this week. What all you guys need to recognise is that Lowe is no less vulnerable to letting cats out of bags incautiously in interviews as anybody. He has no special gifts to avoid landmines and knows that, which is why he often stays silent. Damned if he speaks, damned if he doesn't.

Given that we now have proof that Wilde has the puppets strings in his hands it is pertinent to ask what next from him. I do not expect him to change sides again and back Crouch but neither do I expect him from now on to cede control of the football side to Lowe. He will want Lowe to concentrate on the Business and my guess is he'll get MacMenemy back on the football side.

rumours of Crouch at SMS could well be at the request of Wilde to mend a few fences and use crouch's good relationship with mac to try and persuade mac to come back and work alongside Lowe for Wilde.

Remember Politics is the Art of the Possible

This shows that Wilde does have internal power to change things but will still back Lowe over Crouch IMO.

Lowe will only go if forced either by us the fans or by Barclays and Aviva the mortgage holders

He will never go just because of us Fans (Customers) ...... He has never been influenced by Fans in the past, nor will it be now

He is on record as saying he works for the PLC, and is therefore answerable to THEM .. ie The Shareholders

Of course Lowe never had an English manager

What?

Pheonix is saying Crouch would not have sanctioned the appointment of another Dutch dunce and probably have appointed an English manager with more than absolutely zero experience of English professional league football. And he's right.

Any other football chief exec would do the same in our predicament.

What does the fact that Lowe appointed some English managers historically (well done him) have to do with anything?

I dont believe so, the offer of 2million that has been on the table for a while now !!!

Thanks, I wonder if there is any difference of opinion between Wilde and Lowe, and whether Wilde is getting concerned about the state of the experiment and the public opposition beginnining to take shape.

Thanks Dave, I wonder if there is any difference of opinion between Wilde and Lowe, and whether Wilde is getting concerned about the state of the experiment and the public opposition beginnining to take shape.

I think that only a fool would not be concerned with the current state of our Club.

Wilde may be many things, but I didn't have him down as a fool.

However, the longer he supports Lowe on this crazy experiment, the more complicit he becomes in supporting the "Revolutionary Copaching Set Up".

I fail to see how any rational fan can look at the current set up and what this "Revolutionary Coaching Set Up" has delivered so far, and be impressed with the returns.

You can come up with excuses regarding luck, injuries or whatever, but that does not disguise nor excuse that this season has been a disaster.

Wilde still has time to act, it's just whether he has the gumption to come up with an alternative or has the balls to support someone who does.

If Wilde sticks by Lowe he will sink with him, but there is a chance he could redeem himself if he acts before it is too late.

Um, I would agree with this 100%

I was thinking similar things myself, I don't see this unholy alliance as anything but a marriage of convenience, uneasily tenuous at the best.

The present situation must be putting it under pressure. If there is a big demonstration, a poor performance, and a big kickoff on the 31st that will add more pressure.

Hi Charlie.

Are you somehow related to Wilde?

I have worked for a CEO who was a micro managing control freak like Lowe.

Unless it was an emergency there would never have been a significant announcement made by anybody else, including the Chairman.

In this day and age of readily available communications (-blackberries and laptops), Lowe could easily have managed the JP resignation.

I consider the fact that he didn't highly significant.
