Leeds had a far better team than anyone in the League, they just had a shit manager. I honestly thought that Leeds would replace Farke this summer but it seems they are going to give hime another crack at the Premier. Personally I feel that it is a mistake.

Personally I feel that it is a mistake. Possibly, but it’s a tough one. Farke is obviously a risk at that level but it is probably more of a risk to rip it all up and try and start afresh just after promotion. I think the best chance any promoted team has is to keep a cohesive team together and try to add a bit of quality. 1

The problem being that the Premier League is so tough that no club can afford a poor start & hope to recover. If you wait 12 to 15 games to replace the manager the next manager has an almost impossible task. 1

skintsaint Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Apparently Russ looking at getting Johnny Cardoso as a first signing, seems ideal for his setup. 1 9
Midfield_General Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) Rusty off to a good start. Their first friendly of pre-season and they were 2-0 down after 15 minutes and have just been booed off by their own fans at half-time 🤣 Fans already questioning their fitness, marking, closing down, defending and the fact that Martin's decided not to wear their precious club suit on the touchline. He has got a big, big task ahead of him. Edited 17 hours ago by Midfield_General 4

Not the greatest of starts but hey you don’t get any prizes for winning pre season friendlies ! 1

Shocking defending and goalkeeping from Brugge. Edited 17 hours ago by Midfield_General

Midfield_General Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago FT: 2-2. They were better second half once Brugge took their foot off the gas but it was very noticeable that it really doesn't take much for that crowd to turn. If they're ready to boo them off in a pre-season friendly, then if he's not winning every week they're going to be on his back very quickly in the games that actually matter. 4
bangkoksaint Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Years ago when Dave Jones was manager a friend and I went to Norway for the pre-season tour. The team were based in Bergen but the team changed the date and location of their friendly and we couldn’t afford to go. Rangers were in town also and their supporters were off the scale with respect of their intensity and numbers. Anyway we got in with a group of them and went to watch them play a friendly a couple of hours away. The coach ride was something I’ve never experienced before or since following football!! Make no mistake whether it’s a friendly or not they expect to win and this start will be a nightmare for him. 4

coalman Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Got to remember it's going to take Martin a while to coach the high risk no reward football into them so it's automatic and for their fitness levels to drop to the right level. It's not an overnight thing. 7

He’ll be getting a bit chippy most weeks then, didn’t take much for Blackmore to push his buttons and I’m bloody sure the local and national press will be a lot harder than the easy time Adam used to give him. 1
Dr Who? Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I watched some of this. RM was clapping like mad if they kept the ball and passed it around with no gain. For me it looked like some of the players are not onside with the style of play as there was a lot of long passes out from some. Hard to tell as Rangers look sluggish and laboured, but that is what we were like a lot of the time. 1
