Harry_SFC Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago From Adam Blackmore and Alfie Houses latest tweets I think we are getting a striker in on loan and recalling either Damion Downs or BBD... 1
Harry_SFC Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Apparently we are in talks for Cyle Larin on loan from Feyenoord. 6 ft 2 striker who has 0 goals in 8 games this season but does have a decent enough record elsewhere. The SR way. 1

Not sure we can recall a season long loan without Derby’s agreement. Shouldn’t be any such problem for Downes, where Hamburg have already seen enough

Jack Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Not gonna shit myself on dodgy Twitter news yet, and happy for Armstrong and Archer to go as long as we sign a proper replacement. But it’s the last bit that I have very little faith in SR over. If recalling any of those loans is true, we’re in a bit of bother Edited 7 hours ago by Jack 1
SNSUN Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago 1 minute ago, AlexLaw76 said: perfect, not scored a goal this season. very saintsy A quick glance shows that he has scored goals at reasonable levels before though. Experienced, 6'2'', for the rest of a season where we may possibly be chasing shadows I don't think it would be bad business bringing in a tall striker, especially one that wants to hit form to get into Canada's squad for the WC although from the articles I've read he has been mis-firing of late. Get through to the summer and re-assess.

Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Translation: Cyle Larin is heavily criticized in the Netherlands... well, he's earned it through his own actions. A poor professional and an even worse player, undisciplined and someone who has dragged out injuries because, after all, according to him, he wasn't going to play anyway. And yet there are still people thinking his return could be positive... Cyle Larin, persona non grata 3 1 3

When Edozie was linked to them and Ueda was mentioned tongue in cheek the other day, I thought I'd take a look at what else they had and watched Larin's youtube tape. I wasn't massively impressed with what I saw, so didn't suggest him on here as an option. Larin is certainly a broad shouldered striker that has the physicals tool to lead the line. Maybe he can hold the ball up, and bring others into the game. a lot of the highlights are of him with his back to goal retaining the ball, which we do need. He's scored some goals, a 1 in 3 record is alright, mostly in the MLS years ago, but 10 goals in 60 odd La Liga appearances for Majorca is a little concerning. Edited 7 hours ago by Chez 1

He was the one forward in the Isak/Wissa/Strand-Larsen debacle who did not go on a strike, and as a result, he did not get a move to Newcastle in the summer, and when struggeling for form, the Wolves fans turned on him. Loyalty in football is dead, from all sides...

Willo of Whiteley Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Will be very astounded if we sell Adam Armstrong this January, however, by the sounds of it, it looks all but done. It says a lot about: - a player that’s moving to a team that is almost certain to be relegated. - a football club that hasn’t a clue what its policy is in the transfer market. (It’s suggested we haven’t got anyone lined up). - a football club that is clearly not going for promotion. 1

Teamsaint1 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago This striker might just about make sense if we are trying to balance the books for a serious shot at promotion next season, and he is being brought in as a back up for Stewart , if they are very confident in his fitness holding up. Or if the are really confident that he is an undiscovered genius. None of those apply though.

Azaz has been massively underwhelming given his stats in the league the last two seasons. Peretz hasn't been here long enough and let's be honest a fag packet would of been better than Baz. Jander has potential but is no where the finished article Scienza has been a revelation, no qualms there. So on that basis, about a 15% success rate from Spors signings. Replacing one of the most potent strikers in the league, for an out of form 30 year old that cannot get a game in the dutch league is a cause for concern in my eyes 3 2

I actually think we took a bit of a gamble spending £50 million odd on going up this season . Now that it’s obvious we’re not we need to get some money in . Come feb 2 nd at 7pm our squad is going to be a lot weaker . Yet some fans thought staying down here for another season was going to be good . next season will be even tougher with Wolves, Burnley and 1 off West Ham , Forest or possibly Leeds. Then you’ve got the likes of Birmingham and Wrexham who both will be strong. With Dragan and the clowns I can see us looking down rather than up next season . 3 1
CSA96 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Kind of amused to see the some of the same names who thought we should've kept Onuachu because he has a good goal record in Turkey turning their nose up at Larin, who has a good goal record in Turkey and played for a bigger club than Onuachu did over there

Oh no Mick Mills Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Imo that's a very negative slant on the players we've brought in. I appreciate he's not exactly a marquee signing but that would never happen in the January transfer window for a Championship side. People keep saying how difficult it is to bring in a striker as they are like gold dust and anyone with a really decent record is not coming to us 100%. You take Brandon Thomas Assante for example. He's got 10 goals in 20 games for Cov this season yet they gambled on him where his record was 72 games 17 goals at West Brom and 100 odd games 24 goals for league 2 Salford... This guy would only be a loan ..you never know he could exactly what we need...or am I being a deluded optimist!
