saintant Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago More great news. Could the squad be sticking together? I guess we'll find out but so far so good. 1
CSA96 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Saints sign Cyle Larin to two-year deal: https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/saints-confirm-permanent-cyle-larin-signing 1
Saint_clark Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Maybe I'm reading too much into it but I think there may be a third announcement coming, as the videos have a shirt for Larin and Peretz and then a third one that hasn't been turned round yet. 6
davefizzy14 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago So happy about this, Cyle is with us permantley 😊 1
hypochondriac Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Lovely. Even if he isn't as brilliant a signing as Peretz, he is a handful and will probably be a low fee so is a great option to have. Let's take up Stewart's extension, give Bree a new contract and we are in business. 1

Yeah I can’t quite get the other clues. Seems to be a far east or Turkish wrap/flatbread being used by the club and by Alfie House! Eff knows.

We're not fucking around! £10m spent on securing Peretz and Larin, just a couple of days after Solak went on the club channels and publicly promised to keep backing the club and put a team together that can go for automatic promotion. Holmes_and_Watson Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago He was getting better all the time with us. A good goals return, and offered us a different, and needed approach, up front. It also allowed Stewart to have his minutes managed. I think that worked well for both of them, knowing they were both important. And now both at the World Cup. Also, I don't think the asking price was that high. Half a Downs or something. 1

CSA96 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Cyle Larin on Tonda Eckert: "I came to Southampton and I trusted the coach, he brought me and gave me that trust to go play free and I think he gave the whole team a structure to play free and trust each other.” “Southampton is a big club and, for me, a Premier League club but before coming when watching the games and the style of play when Tonda came, and speaking to him before I came, was an important decision. “He gave me that trust to be able to go on the field and, first of all, know I'm going to play games and play minutes and do what I do, score goals and just help the team and build up, hold the ball, and all these things that I knew I could do. “That was important and I think he was a big part of the team doing so well. You could see he brought a group of guys together and was able to perform at a high level each and every game.” 3
saintant Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Imagine Big Cyle thundering forward at full tilt after a World Cup campaign and pre-season conditioning. Scary thought for all Championship centre backs 🙂 1

Yep, very good deal. Past form is no guarantee but big Cyle scored 8 league goals in 9 league starts and 7 sub appearances. A 1 in 2 ratio is very impressive, especially so when neither him nor LND are the outright first choice starter. 2

Yes, can't wait to see the Canadian Carillo firing them in against Watford on Saturday. Delighted to say he easily surpassed Carillo in the pantheon of Great Saints strikers, probably with his first touch of the ball vWatford. Good news he's coming back. As someone above said, a full summer training and he should be firing next season.
West Dean FC Legend Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Well that's good news - us old farts who played in the 70s in local crap football - my mates, they were all miles better than me - love him, he doesn't take any sh*t and is big and tough and gets in the way of players - if it was just him as an attacker or players like him it wouldn't be good - but he is something we missed up front for a long time. The way things are looking we might have to thank Middlesbrough for this squad, players seem to be knuckling down as if to say 'F**k you!' Edited 2 hours ago by West Dean FC Legend 2
CylonKing Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Shocked but very pleasantly. This makes a change! May have been a bit hasty on declaring myself out of being interested in Saints. Don't think you can ever really leave. Edited 2 hours ago by CylonKing Expanded

If Tonda avoids a ban - this could be the best thing that's happened to SFC. Lose the "nice Southern family club" reputation, harden the fans and players together into one unit, give us that winning mentality we've had since January on steroids. Losing to Hull in the final would have done the opposite. 3
