Charles has now spoken publicly about his future and has shared his feelings about recent links to the Premier League.

"At the moment, I'm focused on Southampton and the next campaign," he told the Belfast Telegraph.

"We will see what happens when we go back for pre-season. I'm really looking forward to going back to Southampton."

Derby looking at Edozie.

Among those to make names for themselves in 2025/26 were Jeremy Monga, Mohamed Toure, Cameron Bragg.

Princewill Ehibhatiomhan – Southampton
20-year-old young striker Ehibhatiomhan got his first taste of senior football last season with two League Two loan spells away from Southampton. The first of these was at Swindon Town, and he ended the season at Salford City.

With those appearances under his belt, it bodes well for him to build on the reputation he has built at Southampton. He has achived in both the club’s U18s and also the U21s.

His flexibility and adaptability were on display whilst on loan, appearing predominantly as a centre-forward whilst also featuring as an attacking midfielder and at left midfield. His youth-level attacking production, coupled with senior football beginning to leak in, should make him a prospect to keep an eye on.

Edozie to Derby would be a weird one, would much prefer to keep hold of him.

Still think he can offer something for us.

Given the club need to raise i'd be content for edozie to be a means to do so. On an expiring contract, still barely plays and still lacking real end product.

We'd get hardly anything for him. I'd rather sell them bbd.

I like Edozie and would love for him to kick on at Saints but becoming resigned to the fact it may never happen… Shame as he’s got outrageous skills in his locker, just wish he could turn it on consistently

Not sure. We've been waiting for him to finally show his true potential for a long time. Maybe he's as good as he's going to get in which case a move to Derby would suit both parties.

We're not going to get the best out of Edozie if we don't give him minutes. Martin froze him out then loaned him out. Still froze him out and Eckert gave him minutes here and there. The little we saw of him showed more than we saw from Fellows.

Where does this come from? I thought Dragan said he's back us this season.

He's one I'd be happy to cash in on though for the same reasons as you.

New rules limit his annual investment to 10 mil I believe

Juan isn't suitable to play as a lone striker; he's too short. He's going to Lille, a Champions League team, for 20 million euros. We bought him from Sao Paulo for 900,000 euros, and we suffered a lot for his development. Lille will play in the Champions League qualifiers; he transferred to Lech Poznan. We got him from Altay for free.

I watched a video from someone credible who'd looked at our accounts and said we needed to make 60 million this summer. Sounds true to me.

SR finished the season with a 25 million euro profit, a club whose budget was the same as some teams in the Turkish third division. Despite making a 25 million euro profit, they bought a 27-year-old striker from the Brazilian third division, and we narrowly missed out on European cups.

Two things I’ve seen circulating on Twitter:

The first, a tweet saying Harwood-Bellis is staying - clearly a wind up, no source, facts, just baiting.

The second, a tweet saying there is a big name Championship player moving to Southampton in the next few days. The bio says he works for The Athletic, then you clock he only has 140 followers.

Silly season has begun. 😂😂😂

Cool story, bro.

From the 2026/27 campaign, the SCR allowance of clubs will be set at 85 per cent of income. That margin will have a flexible equity top-up allowance of £33million over a three-year period, with owners allowed to fund up to a maximum of £15million a season

Difficult to turn it on consistently when you play so inconsistently.

THB and Ramsdale would get us close to that. Need replacements though. Potentially cash in on loanees like BBD, Sugawara, and Damo Downs (Lol) to fund some players in. If we lose Leo, Jander etc one would thin’ it would be for a sizeable fee so would fund a replacement.

Also Fernandes sell on looks likely to materialise. Ramsdale should be £15-20m, possibly slightly more for THB. Sugawara had a good season apparently on loan so should be able to shift him on possibly for a modest profit.

Yes, forgot to mention that too with Fernandes. £80m is being mooted which seems very high but would net the club £15m according to reports I’ve read.

True, but on the flip side, good players will take their chances and make sure they play regularly.

Edozie clearly has something, but I think both a lack of end product and more importantly hard defensive work is the main reasons managers have been reluctant to play him regularly.

If they also got £15m for Charles, and Ramsdale, they could play for a higher fee on THB.

For some reason he seems to be a square peg trying to fit into a round hole. I cannot figure it out as he has the ability but never seems to quite fit in. Cannot see it happening now.

I have in good knowledge that Charles will stay, seems to have his head screwed on and would be much more valuable to us than the cash next season. He has no urgency to leave, but I’m sure if one of the top 6 came in for him he would not have much choice. I also think TBH will stay.

Happy to him to stay but only likely if he extends his contract.

It's 15% of the profit. Appreciate that the transfer fees are usually pretty opaque but if we got £38m and they sell for £80m. 15% of £42m would be £6.3m. Likelihood is they get c.£70m and we get c.£5m. Still a decent contribution to the pot.

I don’t know, but it’s not what I’ve read. I’ve read 15% of the fee. Percentage of the profit would, I agree, make more sense. But just going off of media reports which you have to take with a pinch of salt one way or the other.

I agree, the only small hope I have is that I thought it looked like he worked a little harder defensively when Tonda used him towards the end…

but he probably needs a fresh start somewhere else if he is to get more out of his potential.

Thanks for the info. Good to hear, even though he still probably will go if a good offer for all parties comes in, it’s nice to know he probably won’t be pushing for it

If that happens I think by far the most likely to leave will be Jander. Maybe Scienza too? We will need to sell two higher value assets either way.

Jander would be top of my list to keep, maybe on a par with THB, Scienza close behind. However I also think Jander most likely to leave, to a decent German club i’d expect.
